Default What is a Shoe Box Swap?

I'm all for asking the obvious! But, some of us don't know all the ins and outs and lingo, so I'm asking. THANKS for your answers!

From what I know a shoebox swap is where everyone brings enough materials in a shoebox size for everyone to make their own make n takes. You do one box, then switch to the next one. That way you end up with a bunch of cards but all different when you are done. And you do the labor.
So if you were going to a function that had 20 people you would design a card and cut out enough for 20 people to make that card of yours. Everyone else would do the same. You just keep passing around the boxes until everyone makes one.

I know that sounds confusing...sorry...can't explain it very well I guess...

THANK YOU! Makes lots of sense - now I know what goes in the shoebox! I appreciate it and sounds like a neat thing to do. Thanks again for the help and now some others will know too!
