Snazzy Baby Colours
Hi!
I have to make two baby cards for two niece-in-laws. They don't know what sex they are having, so I can't make them a girl-pink, boy-blue card.
Does anyone have some new and exciting sex-neutral colour combos for babies? I'm tired of the old pale green/yellows!

Maybe lime green with aqua? I am just guessing, I'm not that good with colors

Here's a baby card I made that's definitely not traditional:

My boss and I are making a baby card right now with Olive green's, bright yellows and rose red. She knows she is having a girl so we are adding more rose red. It's coming out really cute! These colors are the ones the Mom is using in her nursery. She doesn't like girly, girl colors!

I have been combining so much with Chocolate Chip or Close to Cocoa latley. Certainly Celery or Bearly Banana would be great for either sex. Very "in" right now.

Here's one with bright yellows and greens. It was for a boy but think it could work for either....

Thanks!
Thanks for all the great suggestions! In the end I did the first one in Marigold Morning and So Saffron with a hint of Barely Banana. I wouldn't have used such a strong yellow as the Marigold if I hadn't seen the bolder colours in your ideas.
I love the idea of using Chocolate Chip for a baby card! I'm addicted to chocolate in all it's forms ;) so I'm going to use that for the next one.
Thanks again!

I saw a darling baby card made in all white. What was so great about it is that it had all sorts of textures with embossing, vellums and plain white cardstock. I would post a link but it was coughcoughastoreboughtcoughcough card.

Another idea would be bright and fun. We so often go to pastels. I've made baby cards using bright red, blue, yellow, green glossy paper. I found the paper at my local Kelly Paper store.

Creamy caramel, bashful blue, vanilla...
Creamy caramel, celery, vanilla...
YOu get the idea. Creamy caramel has a pastel feel without it being a fluffy colour. Goes with a lot...

I know what sex they are having! ;)
I made one recently (and did NOT take a picture before mailing, UGH) that was chocolate chip & so saffron. I used one of the newer baby stamp sets and put a giraffe on the front. I colored in his spots with the chocolate & then the body was saffron...so I mounted it on some choc/saffron papers & then the base of the card was white.
I toyed around with using very vanilla and close to cocoa (which I did on a scrapbook page once for a baby)...but since I wanted the giraffe to be colored, I went with the other colors.

ROTFL!!! Don't tell my husband- he thinks that his little darlings must have been visited by angels! :p
The card sounds great. Still one more card to do, so there's another idea!
Karen.

3 of our 4 children were surprises and we didn't know the sex (4th was spilled by a nurse who let the cat out of the bag at one of my appts  , lol) and at our showers, etc we received many neutral colors of creams, vanillas. I thought they were the most striking, esp if you have a cuttlebug - no color needed, you can just dress them up as you like! Other ones that stood out were pinks and purples and teals - pink would be more for a girl but you can really have fun with color these days! Enjoy your card making
