Default Recipe for Stampin' Mist.

I know someone has posted this a million times. I am out of mist and I need to make some in a pinch. Just til the real stuff shows up...

What is the "recipe" for making the mist? PRETTY PLEASE! With Dazling Diamonds on top.

I fill a spray bottle with water and a couple of drops of baby shampoo. Works like a charm! And cheaper too.

Hi,

I use a mixture of half water / half Windex (the clear kind) and it works really well .

Hope this helps!

Here's the recipe I use -

One eyedropper of glycerin (with rosewater if you like the scent)
One squirt of baby wash
Fill remainder of container with distilled water

I mix this up in my Stampin' Mist refill bottle. Seems to work pretty well. Can't remember who to give credit for the recipe to - I think I found it here at SCS though.

Oh yipee, I am just about out of my cleaner and was getting ready to buy a new bottle. Now I can save for more stamps instead.

Hate to sound dumb but where do you buy glycerin? And, is baby wash, baby shampoo???

Thanks...

Default Stampin Mist Cleaner

I got a recipie from someone on here, you use:
3/4 bottle of water
6-8 drops of liquid dish soap
pour in your favorite body spray for fragrance.
My big question though is what do you use in it to keep your stamps conditioned? Is it the glycerine? Any ideas out there?

Hi Stampaway!

I bought glycerin in the pharmacy section at Target. Had to ask for it at the counter and they got it for me - not very expensive about $2.00 and I have enough to make a bunch of recipes. Also, the baby wash is different from the baby shampoo - it is not as thick. I used Johnson's Baby Wash - it says it right on the bottle.

Hope this helps!

Oh, and I think it is the glycerin that helps to condition the stamps. I know it works wonders on my hands!!

LOL - I just acted like I knew what I was talking about and asked for glycerin and when he brought it out I politely asked if he "happened" to have any that might be scented - such as with rosewater. He was great and smiled and told me that he did indeed have some - and that usually only "older" women asked for that and that he thought I needed it for a baby (yeah, right) - I sure do love that guy!!

Default Stamp Cleaner

Sharon... about how much baby wash is in a squirt? I don't want to use too much or too little. I love the way baby wash smells so I would really like to try this recipe. Thanks!!!!!

I loved the stamp cleaner that Marvy used to make. Do you know where I can get a bottle with a scrubby cleaner on top (like the Stazon cleaner)? Then I could use this recipe and make my own...

Well I just ordered a refill, but I think that will be the last. I have a new grandson so I have plenty of baby wash!! And I love the smell of rosewater, reminds me of my grandma!! TFS.

Default stampin mist

Regarding a container like the one Stazon remover comes in with the neat sponge top...
Check out an office supply store. I know they used to have a small, refillable bottle with a sponge on top for wetting the backs of lick-on stamps. The sponge was kind of crude, but perhaps they have improved it so that it is like the Stazon type.
You could also just recycle an empty stazon remover bottle or maybe just the lid put on another bottle so that you wouldn't confuse them.
Just a thought...

I have the 9 oz. bottle of Johnson Baby Wash - a "squirt" by my measurements is about a half a capful. If you get too much your scrub pad will suds up when you clean your stamps and you don't want that to happen

I love Sharon's recipe, TFS!!!

I put some lavender scented Johnson's Bedtime baby bath wash in it. Now my stamp cleaner smells just like my son, LOL!

Thank you Sharon!!! I'm going to get the baby wash today. Man will that smell bring back some memories! My baby is 6 and has refused to use baby wash since she saw Daddy use bar soap! Thank you again!!!

Another good recipe is one part Simple Green spray cleaner and two parts water. I use that in my spray bottle. It works great!
