??? re Petal Prints
Okay, I've seen the tall flower of this set called 'astilbe' and I've seen it called 'lupins'. Which, if either, is correct (not that it really matters in the whole scheme of things)? :D :D

i was wondering the same thing...however i thought it was lavendar!!! LOL i guess it can be whatever we want it to be!

I think that it is more like Lupine than Astilbe - astilbe is more feathery than the stamp appears.
It probably could be used for several "stalky" flowers - I have several bushes around my house that have flowers similar to this but are different colors, etc (hot pink and blue are the colors I grow).

I'm pretty sure it's lupine...otherwise known as Blue Bonnets...at least that's how I've been coloring mine.

Steph you took the words right out of my mouth, lol! Astilbe is much more feathery. Honestly though I hadn't put a lot of thought into what kind of flower...looking at it I suppose it could even be delphinium...or is that what you're calling "blue bonnet"?

My mother was a florist and I often helped in the shop. When we had silk flowers that were not exactly equivalent to a "real" flower in shape or color we just called them "fantasy flowers". That way you can make up whatever flower you can dream!!

It has the look of astilbe if you use one of the stamps from the Watercolor Mini set with it. That gives it a feathery look. (See examples in my gallery) It can also look like lupine, heather, lavender, wheat, or whatever you'd like it to be. It is not meant to look like any actual flower, but to be more representational. That's one of the things that make this set so great! 8)
