Default Point out one thing you LOVE about the new catalog!

Hi girls....lately there have been quite a lot of negative posts here. Makes me cringe. I love Stampin' Up!, love the people I meet because of it and I adore the new catalog and the new accessories.

To encourage the LOVE on this board....please post things you love! Let's focus on good!

How about it. Who is with me?

* the grey images - it sure makes the samples stand out!

* the kits in the front of the catalog

* the new punches

* the colors of the samples this year - so bright and eyecatching

* all the cool shape sets

* spending money on stamps!

laura

Thanks Beate - I always enjoy seeing the positive side of things!

I have to say, I love the catty, for the most part. The only thing I would change is the wheel list.

I LOVE the new All Wrapped Up and Accessories stamp set. That will be one of my first major purchases.

I also like the way they have listed the eyelets. Oh, and I like the new designer paper as I like to scrapbook and have fallen in love with everything that coordintes with the cs.

I think that's it for now. I haven't really had a chance to look at the ideas in the catty since all I have done is look at what stamps and accessories I want to buy!

Happy Stampin' everyone!

Thanks Beate! That's why we love you...happy, happy, happy! (Happy dances too!)

My one thing I love is ...EVERYTHING! (Okay I miss my wheel page, but I can live with that 'cause I love EVERYTHING!)

But, my Woodlands group will confirm that my fave is Sweet Holidays (gingerbread house) They know, because I told them 1200 times!

I'm a bit excited by this new catalog in general. Okay so maybe a BIT is way underestimating it:

I love that I made a big old list, ordered a lot of stuff, and STILL WANT MORE!

I love that my customers are in love with the new sets in all styles to please their varied tastes.

I love that the samples of scrapbook pages and the cards and 3-d items are SO much prettier (imho) than last year.

I love that the catalog is much more organized now.

I *LOVE* that the order I placed will be here tomorrow, and only for a little bit more out of pocket!!!! (But I don't like that I won't be able to fully appreciate my new stuff till Friday! :()

Great topic Beate! I have been bummed to see all the negativity about the new catty. I am loving it and have gotten nothing but great feedback from my customers. I think it is going to be a great year with it. I too really like the stamps being in gray. The samples do pop! I am also very happy with the new sets in there and then was "double happy" when I read their prices. Many were in the low to mid range on price and I think SU did a great job. Gina

LOVE that there's a lot of "cheaper" stamp sets
LOVE that there's a new Firefighter stamp!!
LOVE the new kits in the front- awesome for beginners!!!

I love the whole catalog! I don't understand where all the negativity is coming from - don't we look forward to the new catalog because it's fun and exciting to have change?

I was so excited to get my catalog yesterday that my Dh sat down with me and listened to everything I had to say about each page, he even thought that there was a nice variety of stamps *gasp*

I am very excited about many things, but can't list them now. I am sacrificing and let my Mom take it in to work today to show some of the ladies. WHAT WAS I THINKING?!?!?!?!

I LOVE everything about the new catalog--

*the simply scrappin' kits
*the shape sets--I need them all!!
*the starter kits
*the holiday mini catty--the whole thing!
*the jumbo wheels--I resisted for long enough, must have it!!

The one thing I hate is that I don't have enough time stamp--must work to pay for all the above!

OH Oh...the holiday Mini. I don't even wanna say how many things I will NEED from that. Like the whole last page, the one with the angel stamp because it reminds me of my baby....the Thanksgiving stamps...and the other Christmas stamp with the running elf...it's so cute.
I so need to win in the lottery!

I love:

-the grey images that SO make the samples pop...

-the "bellies" (embellishments) ~ way too cool and so many...

-the aqua painters ~ this will SO rock as I love to watercolor...

-the new Summer by the Sea set (too bad all 3 aren't in, not just 2 but maybe next year?!)...LOVE this one and it's on the first list!

-the layout of the catalog (but the page numbers get me EVERY time!)...

-that SU has in a round about way, brought me to SCS. Which I totally love. It's made me insane!

Love y'all in a SKW!!

Oh Beate! This post is dangerous! I already love too much and now, I keep reading these posts and saying, "oh yea! that too!"

I love the kits.
I love the princess (and so do my 2 girls)
I love the new simply scrappin
I love, love, love and love some more the new punches (Spencer Willis himself even signed my punch page!)
I love the new tool kit
I think I'm gonna have to have all the new jumbo wheels
I love that my 2 fav sets are in the new catty: Paris in Spring and Alphadots
I love how you can punch out the alphadots with the new 1/2 inch circle punch
I love I'm Here and how you can punch out the letters in that one too!

Okay, I'll quit.... I'm hyperventilating...

As a new demonstrator I'm not far from being an old customer.

Here's what I love:

the starter kits (I wish they had these when I got started)
the simply scrappin (my customers love these)
the new punches (especially the aphadot punch)
the holiday mini is awesome
all the copper stuff is really nice
beads

I'm glad I have several workshops scheduled so I can have money to buy, buy, buy.

I love the new catalog and I'm sure next years will be even better!

I think it is BEAUTIFUL!

The colors just invite you in to take a peek........... and then 5 hrs later you have a list 3 pages long,of things that you cant believe that you lived so long with out !!!

I have told so many ladies.....you are gonna cry, its so pretty!
I think they made a huge leap into masterpiece this time.

I think one of my, many, fav things is the basic brown ink. I just love all the watercolor images with it....so classy.

I Love:

the Everyday Flexible Phrases
Pool Party and Slumber Party paper and vellum
I now love copper everything (even though everyone you talk to will say I love silver...)
I totally love the 3 hand stamped by personalized stamps... can't I have all three to go with my different projects?
I love that I ordered $300 worth of stuff last night and my boyfriend didn't make fun of me once!
And lastly, I love that I want to spend the whole day stamping just to make as cute as stuff as Stampin Up!

There's almost too many to name!

1. I love the simply scrappin kits (i know most are the same but somehow this time they've packaged them more appealingly. I think I'm gonna start scrapping)
2. I love all the new phrase sets!
3. Love the new stamppad caddy
4. Love, totally cool and many more!
5. Just love the general layout of the catalog! Very nice!
6. Love the entire holiday mini! Will be making a big purchase in Sept!

I have found I like the items from page 1 on.

I think the kits at front are great, I think the new punches are PHENOMENAL! Love the bigger wheels

Don't get me started on the Winter Mini-if this is hint of things to come I can't wait-I will be pre-ordering the future minis for soooo many of my customers-I am sure they will love it as much as I do.

I could say something nice about every page - including the front and back covers!

That's my "glass is half full" philosophy!

Thank you for starting this thread! I was feeling a bit depressed on the "glass is half empty" thread. Would be hard to go out and promote my business and beg for bookings and orders after reading all that stuff!

I'm still getting used to the new catty - but my overall impression is definitely THUMBS UP! And love love love the extra pages in the Holiday Mini. I want a bunch of those sets!

Thanks again for listing the positives!

And for anybody who quits over the CATALOG...I say...BUH-BYE!!

I love that many of the samples in the new catty are simpler and easier to create. I had several customers say that they would never attempt to recreate any of the examples in the old catty because so many of them were so intricate and detailed. Even though many of the new samples are simpler, they are by no means lacking artistically in any way!

Beate, its just like you turn things into the postive! So glad you're here!

I LOVE EVERYTHING!!!! I proably have enough to place 3 hostess orders to receive the extra $25 just from myself! Now, that shows how much I LOVE everything!

I love:
* Totally Cool (gotta make some samples for Britta who claims those two girls remind her of me and my sis! )
* All Wrapped Up (how adorable is that set)
* BEADS (how could we not LOVE beads?)
* Bold Butterflys (Can't believe I didn't place it with my first order)
*Right At Home (Great for "Just Moved" cards or Welcome Home, etc.)
*Punches
* New Color Caddy (can't wait to order that)
* New Designer Paper
* More Simply Scrappin' Choices

I could go on and on and on! I LOVE it all!!!!

I LOVE THAT STAMPIN' MEMORIES IS NOW COMBINED WITH THE REGULAR CATALOG!!! I used to miss out on so much cool stuff from there because I'm not a scrapper and didn't really know about it!

So far my knowledge is only secondhand, because I don't have my own copy yet. My wonderful demo is sending me a free one next week, though! Until then, I will live vicariously through all of you! :P

I'm with Cambria in that I love it all! I honestly can't think of anything that I haven't liked from my first peek (here!) at the cover, to my excited anticipation for sets we were hearing tantalizing descriptions of, to the moment of actually holding the new catalog in my own two hands, to the first 4,000 go-throughs, to the list-making process, and even to the list-editing process (inevitable!). This is the 3rd catalog I have seen since I started stamping, and I think it is the best. This is the one that has made me decide to become a (at least at first) hobby-demo. My husband fully supports this. My only problem now is figuring out who to sign up under, since that is imperative!

I love you girls!!! Love to read positive stuff.

And you pointed out some "has to have it" that weren't on my list yet!

Yes....how about all those new word sets, the sassy sayings and the wonderful words. You know me...vintage girl....those sayings are perfect for it. And the copper things. You are so right. I ordered every copper item in the catalog. And I can't wait for the vintage brads. I know I will order two of those...since they won't be available all year round and we can't run out, can we? Then I would just hyperventilate or something. LOL

Thanks again for changing the mood back to "Happy Stamping Place here"

Big hug!

I LOVE the new catty. I love the stamp images in gray. The idea samples simply burst off the page. I love the new punches, especially the ones due to come out in Sept. Waiting is sooooooooooo hard! I love the sassy sayings I and II. My daughter and I have always said, "love you more" I love the beads. What a cool way to embellish a project. I love the crafters kit, especially the paper piercing. I never even thought of trying that technique! I love the stamping kits. I love all the information pages in the front of the book. I love Stampin Up and I love this web site. Okay, my hearts racing now. I better sign off.

THANKS SO MUCH FOR STARTING THIS TOPIC!!! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that you did this!!!!
Okay, I truly love the catalog. Love the new stamp sets, and funny as it sounds, I love that there are some that I don't personally "bond" with, 'cuz that means that others will and there will be something for everyone to get attached to.
Strictly from a professional point of view, they did a magnificent job of designing this catalog. It is so user friendly, and creates a "sells itself" mentality. For years, I designed and created training materials, and from that standpoint, I can really appreciate what they have done with this catalog.
Just think how many times we have people flipping through the catalog, overwhelmed with everything and saying, "I'll think about it and call you with my order" and then never doing it, because it takes too much work to even know where to start. This catalog has taken a LOT of that pressure away with the starter kits.
I, for one, LOVE the gray. I always had a creative block with the black images because I couldn't picture it stamped in anything other than black. The gray opens up something in my brain and lets my creativity come forth. I am sure that sounds dumb, but it is really true.
I am sure I will think of other things, and will jump in later again, but wanted to express these things now.
Thanks again Beate for your positive leadership and for starting this topic.
Have a great day, everybody!

But they WILL BE AVAILABLE! Wheeeeee! It said they would be in the little box right next to the packaging. In the minis & in the big IB&C. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT! All of it!

A happy stamper,

I guess I should read more closely. But I have a good excuse. I just got mine yesterday afternoon and I had a workshop to set up for that evening.....That is a worthy excuse, don't you think?
And how wonderful that we can order them all year....because we NEED them! right? At least I do!

The one, ok, two things I like that I might have missed in posts that I like are

2)The Try This! and Don't Miss It! bubbles - very cool

I just LOVE the new catalog! I know no one can please everyone and I think SU! did a darn good job of pleasing a ton of us!

I love....

* Ink Catty (my upline won this at the convention - she was called by all kinds of names by all of us who stayed with her for catching the ball - I told her I never want to hear her wonder whether or not she should go to the convention)

* The new tool kit - thought it was way too expensive until I saw it demo! It is a MUST have!!

* The stamping/scrapping kit at the front

* Gray images

* Prices in US$ (or Canandian $) only! - I cannot count how many times my customers complained how expensive our stamps are looking at the Canandian $$

* Pix of Stampin Spots is there!! - I usually take mine along but these are sellers!

* Pix of Starter Kit on the back - I think this year's picture shows the kit better than in other year's catalogs.

* New Ronald McDonald's set - more versatile than last year's

* Personalized stamps - they are CHEAPER!

I am so thrilled with the new catalog and everything the company is offering us! SU! is a great company and I really think that they try their best to help us demonstrators as well as bring the best to the customers!

Smiles,

I admit to being one the the people who started a semi-negative thread. I was just a little disappointed in the catalog when I first saw it and felt I had to find out if it was just me. I think it was actually PMS!

BUT...there are definately things that I do love about it!

I LOVE the copper accessories...I'm going to purchase all of them

I LOVE the new shape sets (and to think we were all worried about Little Shapes retiring!)

I LOVE the new punches...the stamp pad organizer...the new die cut boxes, beads, buttons

I LOVE "All Wrapped Up" and "Birthday Banter"...first on my list to order!

I LOVE lots about it...sorry I brough a negative feel to the boards
