Please Help! Watermark for Paint Shop Pro?

I'm hoping someone out there can help me out. I just purchased a watermark from http://laycockdesigns.com (beautiful work BTW), and I am using Paint Shop Pro. Can anyone tell me how I get the watermark onto the photos? And can you make it lighter or darker? I've done searches and everything I find is for Photoshop. Please, help? Thanks in advance!

What is the file extension for the watermark?

I mostly use Photoshop Elements and have my watermark as a brush. I find it is much easier (and faster).

Although you could just open the png file and then select and copy. Then open the image you want to add the watermark to and paste the watermark on top of that (on a new layer would be better).

(I don't have Paint Shop Pro anymore so I am not able to give you the exact steps, but I bet that someone who does have this will be able to give you that info.)

I use Paint Shop Pro 7 and this is what I do...

Open your card picture.
Open the .png watermark.
On the watermark, right click and copy.
On the card picture, right click and paste as a new layer. It will paste in the center of the picture and activate the "move arrows". Use the left mouse button to grab the watermark and move it where you want it to appear. Sometimes I have to try a few times to get it to grab the watermark.
Save your card picture. It will give you a notice that says something to the effect of needing to save as a merged image. Click ok.
That's it!

Thank you for those instruction, Diane. I have the same version of PSP and never really did know how to put a watermark on my cards. What I did was to add another transparent raster layer, then put my lettering & whatever brush I liked on that layer. I made that layer lighter before saving the pic.

I actually make a picture tube with my watermarks. Go to File - Export - Picture Tube. A window will open that guides you through the saving process. Then when I'm ready to add it to a photo I create a new raster layer and then click where I want the tube to be. You can change the size before you place it. When it's on it's own layer you can use the Move tool to place it and then you can lower the opacity in the Layers Palette.

This way you don't have to open your watermark everytime you use the program.
