Not Very Happy!

I bought the SU! "Defining Alphabet" I'm not sure if I'm mad at myself for not paying attention or fat SU! for not really making it clear what I was getting. I thought this was an upper and lowercase alphabet that you could use separately. However, when I went to trim it last night, I realized that they are supposed to be used together, and even if I did want to separate them, I wouldn't have enough blocks and they just aren't what I was expecting. It's so aggravating when you spend that kind of money and aren't happy.

Thanks for letting me vent.

I remember alot of people making that comment when the set first came out.

I know some people successfully cut between the letters. I think maybe they side mounted the lower case. I am sure they will come by and let you know what to do to make you love your stamp set

If you haven't cut this set, ask your demo.... she may be able to exchange it for something else. I had a similar problem and my demo was able to do this for me but I am not sure if it was an extra she provided.

I have this set and decided to split the letters to make it easier to use - I still put both the uppercase and lowercase on the same side of the wood block but there is a big gap between them which makes using just one of them easy when I use the stampamajig - and they were much easier to trim apart that I thought :-)

Once I had done this, this set was great value for money - two alphabets for the price of one :-)

I don't have this set yet, but I think it's supposed to be that way so it looks like a dictionary entry. To be used with the define your life set. I think it is misleading though because they are grouped with the alphabets in the catalogs. If they had these sets in a different section, I think there's be less confusion.

Don't cut it or try to mount it. Exchange it for what you really want. I bought this set know that it was mounted that way and I haven't used it as much as I thought. Its too expensive to be disappointed with, KWIM?

Oh, I was able to successfully cut them apart AND mount them on the wood blocks provided. Here's a couple links to some pics of them:

Great pics - I found separating the letters was alot easier than I thought - and I love the size of the letters as they are perfect for cards :-)

I mounted my as SU intended and use my markers to color just one letter if that is how I wish to use it for a particular project. Otherwise I actually purchased them to use together. But do see why and how others may not like that or find the set misleading.

Hope you are satisfied now with it!
Great idea cutting the letters apart.

OK, I got my issue resolved. I called SU! and they said this one time, they will make an exception and I can exchange the set for one I like. YAY!
