Default Need a masculine card, with SU products!

I've got myself into another SU swap and the theme is 'masculine'. Product used must be current...and I am at a total loss. I don't have any of the current obviously masculine stamp sets, I just need some creative input on using other sets that I may have!

Thanks,
Lisa

I've a suggestion-if you use Pinterest then google pinterest, su masculine cards. Lots of ideas. Many ideas just use punches.

On second thought I don't think you need to be using to Pinterest to google for ideas.

A lot is going to depend on what sets you have available to use. It's hard to make suggestions without knowing the stamps.
I mean, we can start with obvious color choices. Browns, blues, greens...mixing red with black and/or kraft tends to read "masculine".
Do you have embossing folders? Go through them and look for anything neutral or masculine like the wood grain for example.
I'm not sure what embellishments are current in the SU catalog but I still have metal brads and will add copper or brass or black to a card to "man it up" :-)
Often, to make a card masculine I rely on color, and embossing folder and a larger simple greeting as a focal point.

So, I have a lot of floral sets, Beautiful You, Hey Chick, Timeless Textures, a couple of Medallion sets (that may be retired) & Swirly Birds. Not a lot to choose from...

I appreciate any and all suggestions!

Ooh ... doesn't the Swirly Birds let you make a boat? Lots of ways to play with the 'ship' in a fun sentiment, right? ;)

Here's an idea using Grunge- easy to change the colors and sentiment to make it masculine:

Here's a card using Swirly Birds that looks masculine to me:

Either Timeless Textures or Swirly Birds would work perfectly. Check out the example linked above...that's just what I was talking about. Create a background in masculine colors and feature one large greeting.
You didn't mention any sentiment stamps you have. If you don't have the stamps you could possibly print a sentiment yourself depending on if your printer can handle card stock weight paper like Whisper White or Very Vanilla.

Are you required to use stamps? Here's an idea, if you can use DP and punches:
clean&simple: 239!

I'm not sure what makes a masculine card masculine, but it seems like bold colors and basic shapes have a masculine appeal.

I think any of the patterns (minus flourish and coffee rings) from Timeless Textures and a simple sentiment would work fine. Clean and simple. I envision the grid pattern, stamped off once then onto card a few times, with Happy Birthday embossed in copper on top.

All great suggestions, my only thought is, does it have to be a grown-up masculine? You could do a little boy card lol

How about using a motorcycle on your card.

not sure if you've found what you're looking for yet, but if it's not too late, this looks like a cool technique for a masculine card.
