Need Help Identifying a Stamp? Post photos here!

This will be the new home of all questions about the name of a stamp set. Just hit reply - insert a photo and wait for help! :)

Unfortunately there's no photo of the set, but it has largish sentiments like:
be your own kind of
things to come
bravery is
be strong
say yes

I used it during a mixed media journal session along with a stamp of a the head/torso of a woman with short hair. She may or may not be part of the set.

If this rings any bells, I'd love to hear them chime!

ETA: Of course after posting I finally found the woman and one of the sentiments - a Dina Wakley. I'm not sure about the other sentiments but will look for her stamps.

Thank you -
Beth

bjeans 06-08-2016 01:31 PM

"say yes
be strong"
are part of the Dina Wakley stamp of the girl/woman.

The other sentiments are not on that stamp set, however, so I'm still looking for:

be your own kind of
things to come
bravery is

Sorry for any confusion!

Not stamp but embossing folder

Hi,
Does anyone know the name of this embossing folder? I was told it was SU. Thanks.

This is a metal embossing plate made by Papertrey Ink (PTI). The other side has a different sunburst image design. I don't know whether it is still being made or sold. I have CASEd this card you showed many times....cute design and the embossing plate just makes it.

NEED HELP FINDING A PENNY BLACK STAMP

1 Attachment(s)
Hi, hope someone out there can help me find out the name of a Penny Black stamp set, I saw this card on Pinterest and I know it's a Penny Black but I can't find any info on what stamps were used etc. I'd like to make the card. Anyway, I'm attaching a picture of the card I'm talking about any help would be really great. I did look up Penny Black but couldn't see anything that resembled the little mice or the flower. Magee

LizSwickley 06-20-2016 11:28 AM

It's available as part of a clear stamp set called "Hugs." Simon Says Stamp sells it.

Catherine773 06-20-2016 11:30 AM

It is by Penny Black and it's called Squeeze till I Squeak. Here it is on ebay for a little under $7 dollars.

Even better!

magee 06-20-2016 11:44 AM

Thanks everyone for the help, I found it and ordered two of them one for me and one for my daughter. You guys are GREAT, Magee

magee 06-21-2016 05:19 AM

Hi Lemonie, I think this is a Taylored Made embossing folder but not sure what the exact name is. Magee

magee 06-21-2016 05:25 AM

There's an embossing folder by Taylored Expressions called Horizon Sun on Ebay selling for around $5 and I also found one on Amazon. Magee

magee 06-21-2016 05:30 AM

Lemonie, I was mistaken about the name of the embossing folder by Taylored Expressions it's called Walking in Sunshine. I just went to Ebay and found it, I think this is the one you're asking for. Magee

PTI Sunshine Impression Plate

Yes, it is still in their online catalog although the reverse side is different from when I bought mine:

https://www.papertreyink.com/pti-die...ression-plate/

There are many sun/rays ideas out there...I love them all!

Might be a good idea to read this thread about PTI, and specifically this plate, first: http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...k-t558873.html

if you are on Facebook, there are pages where people de-stash and there are a lot of embossing folders there. You might have to wait awhile, but it can be relatively inexpensive to acquire things from those pages. Here are the ones I follow:

Okay! I received a free unmounted (naked) red rubber stamp with my order some years ago, from which company I cannot remember. I'd love to know who made it, if anyone recognizes it. I've included a photo above of it stamped on my cd storage case and a 3x5 skinny I used it on. Thanks in advance!

Stampin' Sooz 06-29-2016 07:06 PM

SU! Bits and pieces

http://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.spli...711631266.jpeg
Does any of this look familiar? I think most of them came from grab bags from a thrift store. I'd like to know the names so I can offer them for sale or RAK. Thanks in advance for any info you might have!

muscrat 06-29-2016 07:31 PM

On the bottom row Thank You and boat stamp are from SU set called Anytime Greetings.

jeanne3579 06-29-2016 07:39 PM

The little heart to the left of the "celebrate" stamp is from a set called "A Greeting For All Reasons" The party hat is from a set called "Mini Messages" I have the "Thank You" stamp, but don'y put the name of the set when I separate stamp sets as I do with the images. Sorry I couldn't help more than that.

LemurLover 06-29-2016 08:07 PM

Can you post a larger image, please? I think I have some of these, but the photo is too small for me to be sure.

fionna51 06-29-2016 08:54 PM

The elephant birthday stamp is from a group of demo incentive stamps...ones that are given away for prizes/gifts/etc.

Thanks, Kathy. I don't have that set, so those are definitely from a grab bag. I thought they'd go together since they were both green rubber.

Thanks, jeanne3579 - that was very helpful. I assembled a bunch of stamps from that set that came with no greetings but didn't recognize the heart.

The "celebrate" stamp is from All About U. I *think* the heart next to it in your photo is also from that set, although the SU copyright note is in a different position on my own stamp.

I'm pretty sure the foliage in the square in the top photo is an incentive stamp. I have that stamp too, but it's not part of any of my sets.

marymint 06-30-2016 08:19 PM

Third photo, two frames from Matchbox Messages.

The foliage in the square and butterfly from top photo are listed as incentive stamps.

gothchic 06-30-2016 08:44 PM

The leaf and the spiral sun are from the Bitty Bolds set.

Barb

lutheran 07-01-2016 02:50 AM

The butterfly and leafy frond thing are from Botanicals.

PH - Thank you so much. A couple of others dated the same year were also identified as incentive stamps -- those might have been all together.

Thanks marymint - I've never heard of Matchbox Messages so I would have been searching forever!

Incentive! Must have been all part of the same incentive set.

No, there are slight differences. In Bitty Bolds, the sun has only 9 rays and one less curl, and the tips of the leaf and the stem are more rounded.

PH in VA 07-01-2016 09:00 AM

Suzanne, in your original photo, there's a set of four square designs - the gingerbread man, the flag, the pumpkin, and the basket of flowers. That's Seasonal Patches.

Oh! I so grabbed the wrong set. Bitty Bolds came out a year after the stamps pictured. The 4 stamps came from Bold Favorites which were from 1997. Sorry about the goof.

They're from something other than Botanicals. Botanicals is a 2002 set. The butterfly is similar though. Here's Botanicals:

That set that's marked 2004 is not in the 2005/2006 catalog and that's the oldest I have. Here's a good site with older catalogs. This guy has a lot of catalogs but you have to download them to look through them and my tablet has limited space.

It looks like you have a goodly number of the Jumbo incentive stamps of 2004. Here's the sets:
