Mickey Mouse Mini album

Hi, I posted this question under the scrapbook section being that is has to do with a mini album, but I didn't get any response I am not sure if I should be posting this here but here it is, I apologize if this is to long. I am making a mini album for my great nephew's 4th Birthday and I am using Disney Mickey and Friends since that is the theme of his party. I am having problems trying to get the layers of Mickey's face to match with the base when I cut it out of the cricut cartridge. Is there a blogger or a youtube video that can show me how to use this cartridge? I been having the cricut for a long time and don't use it much because the manual is not easy to understand at least for me it isn't. I really hate wasting cardstock and get frustrated that I can't seem to figure it out. :( Please can someone help me get a hang of it.

There should definitely be someone there who can help, I think quite a few have that cartridge.

there are little cuts in the base of the characters that show you where to put the layers. If you use black out or shadow I don't think they show.
