A couple days ago I was reading a blog and found the cutest stamped image embellished by one of our very own SCS members. The stamp was a product of Impression Obession and it was a Candy Corn Tree. The poster cut each individual candy out and colored the stamped image beautifully. I immediately went to the website and bought the stamp to recreate this beautiful creation to share with my family.
I think that is one of the Leigh Hannan stamps and I just LOVE all of them! I recently made a card with the beehive. I just wish I liked candy corn ;^) . If anyone reading this thread likes this stamp, I strongly suggest you have a look at her other designs. Unique, detailed and just beautiful. They are at the top of my non-SU shopping list these days! I'd love to see her design with that stamp, too. I'm going to the gallery to see if it's there.
OMG. Yes, that is it. How did you do it? Isn't that the cutest thing you have seen. I absolutely love how she did this. My candy corn tree will NOt look near as good as hers, but hey,,,i gonna start somewhere. Might as well be a the top somewhere. Thank you so much.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE all of her designs too, she's a genius!!!
BTW, thanks soooo much for enabling me on that candy corn tree
I checked the gallery first and of course not there. But then I googled "blog impression obsession candy corn tree." The second result was your post in the forum and the next one was her blog!
She has really inspired me to try more 3D effects with restamping parts of images and raising them up. Absolutely beautiful! And I now have subscribed to her blog. Shameless enablers every single one of you LOL!! THANKS ;^) !
I should get my stamp today. I know I will spend all weekend working on it. Wendalyn, you just never know when what you do inspires others. Three cheers for you today.
She's the reason I HAD to have that adorable stamp!! Her cards are always wonderful and I look forward to her new creations! If you're out there Wendy, awesome work!

I agree! I love her stamps too - a great distinctive style.
Darling image and AMAZING card that she made. I love the "paper tole" technique but cutting out all those candy corns must have been torture. Gotta get this stamp! TFS!
BTW, did you see that Halloween Margarita...love it too~
They truly have the neatest stamps. I went with the unmounted ones to save so I could order more. I am a scrapbook junkie and moving slowly into to stamps and it is killing me. Adorable paper, adorable stamps. What's a junkie to do? Buy both.
I got the IO clear stamp set of candy corn, complete with the candy corn cornucopia and the 'It's all about the candy corn' sentiment. I adore candy corn and Halloween for me IS all about the candy corn!

dang it...I just had to buy a few of their new Fall stamps online when I probably could go to my lss here and find them or went to their store this weekend...I just couldnt wait...
I found this stamp at my LSS. And I've been playing with it ever since. I'll never take the time to do the 3-D effect, but it's still a lot of fun. I think I'm going to use it for my Halloween cards this year.
My Copics have been getting a work out the past two days LOL~
You guys are too sweet. THose little candy corns look like more work then they are it didn't take very long plus it adds so much to the card. I just love the Impression Obsession stamps they are very unique
I think i bought all of the last release they were all so adorable. I haven't used them all yet.
Wendy,
May I ask what you use to attach the little tiny pieces of candy corn? The pieces are just so darn small!!! I usually use foam tape for all my stuff that I 3-d... Yours is just the cutest ever!!! Thanks!

I just buy the cheap $2.49 rolls of 3M Foam tape from Target. I like it cause its not super duper thick like the little foam circles. I need to own stock in it as I go through tons but for moderate use i would think it would last a long time that way you can just cut out little squares that fit to whatever you are putting them under.
I, like you, should own stock in 3M foam tape!! Love that stuff and use it all the time. I started out using it for the little candy corns but there were SOOOO many and they are SOOOO small.... My chubby little fingers have a hard time with those little pieces of foam tape. Thanks Wendy!!!!
I lay all the tape down on the tree first and then i take my candy corn after its cut i pick it up with my scissors and put them on the tape. Using my scissors not my fingers. Mine would probably be too fat too
Now why didn't I think of that!!!! Thanks Wendy... I'm going to give that a try today!!

Wendalyn,
I emailed you. I have specific questions. I got my stamp today in the mail. OMG it is small. Well, I knew the measurements, but yout blog looks bigger. Girl, that is some tiny cutting! WOW.
Anyway, will you check out my email and let me know how I did inspecting the blogged image of your card.
The tape....you said you laid it all on the bottom? Not sure I follow you.
This stamp and your card is adorable. Thanks again for sharing.

Yes, it is a slow, most glorious death..LOL I feel in love with those Impression Obsession stamps at CHA - That tree stamp caught my eye from the aisle!

I replied back to you. Basically for the tape I just colored the bottom image first and then cut little pieces of tape with my scissors and placed each tape on a piece of corn. Then as I cut the corn I laid it on top the tape. I normally use my scissors like claws to lay pieces on places with tight corners or hard to lay places. HTH
My card btw was 5 1/4 x 5 1/4 which is my normal size on all my cards. My envelopes are 5 1/2 square but i normally give them that other 1/4 inch breathing room as i make everything 3d so there is room in the envelope to account for that...
I only had a couple of minutes last night between getting home from work and going to church. I could not resist that stamp in my SB room any longer. I stamped the image with stazon, colored corn with prima pencils and cut them out with craft knife.
Tonight I will do all this again and try cut corn with scissors.
I have one question. I understand you stamped two images. Did you emboss both? Can you color with pencils the corn since they are so small with powder on edge?

Both stamped images are embossed. I don't color with pencils i normally color with Copics... I would imagine it would work as I have used pencils and gamsol and embossed images but you don't have to emboss it just stamp it in black.
The only reason i emboss everything as i don't have to worry about anything smearing with copics. I have tried all the inks out there and it still smears for me its the only way i have gotten it not to smear is emboss everythign i do.
Off to try it again, embossing. I can use the pencils and blend with Gamsol I feel sure. Thanks again so much. I will personally send you a copy of my finished product.
OK ya'll here is the first go. There are more than 30 pieces of candy corn to cut and color. It is my first attempt at sponge background. I used make up sponge LOL. I am so excited. I have embossed and stamped six more to carry to my crop tomorrow night.
Thanks Wendalyn.

That is sooo pretty! I so love candy corn...it says fall KWIM?!
I know. I loved it. Great Smokey Mountains....My in laws are in Asheville, are you near there?
I am a few hours away from there in Maryville. It's a town just outside of Knoxville. The mountains are just up the road from me. I am sooooo glad that fall is almost here. I love the changing leaves.
