I know we've all been here before. But how in God's green earth can you sit at your desk and lose a stamp. I haven't moved in 2 hrs!!! And I always (ok, usually lol) use a stamp, then put it RIGHT BACK in it's case. For some reason, I don't think I did that this time. I was using Sunny Studio's Holiday Style (stamping the Christmas ornament). I was trying to figure out which two colors would work good together. Well, I cannot for the life of me find the little crescent piece that stamps on top of the ornament to give it that two toned look. I have torn that desk apart, looked through the trash, in the stamp case, everywhere. I just want to jump off the nearest cliff. LOL I mean, I stamped 3 different colored ornaments using the ball shape, then used the crescent shape to make the shading on two of the ornaments. After that, I have no idea where that piece went. The entire card is all finished except that one lonely ornament doesn't have it's shading. I mean, if I don't find it come the end of November, I will definitely still send out the 12 cards that I made since it was a very time consuming card but man, I know it'll drive me nuts knowing that it's not COMPLETELY finished, know what I mean?

I have been there, too! One time I forgot I had put it on the other side of a clear block (I had a clear stamp on each side of the same block), another time I found the stamp stuck to the bottom of a card, and another time it fell into our very shaggy carpet but I walked on the stamp and felt it.
Some women here have posted they found stamps in their bras (which gave me a good laugh!).
Look in your hair, if it's long-ish. I looked for several hours for a tiny sentiment that had hitched a ride before I saw it swinging in front of me...
Yep, I looked on the papers on the desk, ink pads, my Misti that I was using, the tape runner, my clothes, the scrubber, you name it. I'm gonna go back down there tomorrow and look with fresh eyes.
I am sure it's right in front of my face but I'm done for today. On to tomorrow.

I loved the Borrowers too. We also have the South Park Underpants Elves who dont stop with underpants btw.
I wish you luck. That kind of thing makes me NUTS. Of course it happens with more than just stamps. LOL
Then there is the reverse...I will suddenly find one of the TINY Lawn Fawn hearts....I didnt even use it-it just fell off it's perch. Good luck figuring out which set it came from! So I have a home for orphan tiny stamps.

Right. I have a small "thank you " stamp and I have no idea on what set it goes to. I am 95% Christmas/Winter stamps but I do have 1-2 thank you sets, a birthday set and 1-2 floral sets. And that thank you stamp does not belong to either of those. No idea where it came from.

I found a small clear stamp on the bottom of one of my plastic drawers. And it had been opened and closed many times before I found that stamp. I thought it was gone forever! I probably set the drawer down briefly and it stuck.
In the meantime, perhaps contact the company and tell them your story (all those Christmas cards wah wah). Some will replace a lost stamp from a set. PTI did that for me, twice.
And if they do, you'll of course find your missing stamp the moment it arrives.;)!

This is so ridiculous and embarrassing. So I'm coloring away today with my Faber Castell watercolor pencils, and they would not blend when wetted! After fretting over the dilemma I found myself in, I finally realized I had used my Polychromos pencils by accident.
How about buying a new die with tiny ones with it, taking it out of the pkg. and making one cut. Then vanish. I checked the trash cleaned up my work area....argh!!!!!
Right after I posted this. Accepted the fact that the dies were gone I found them. In my book on the magnetic sheet where they belong. I checked that book 3 or more times.

Like cats, hiding in plain sight. Glad you found them.
I am the Queen of losing stamps!! Make sure you check any waded up paper towels.
Go thru your trash again. look very carefully at every little bit. Then if possible hang on to your trash till you find the stamp. Check the edges of your table under your table, and on the legs check the sides of your waste basket too.
Hope you find it!!!

Gremlins or a crafty ghost!?!?
Glad you found them. If it makes you feel any better that happens to me too.
5 days later...any luck? (Keeping fingers crossed).
If not...maybe to just get past this card...can you trace/cut that crescent out of a piece of copy paper or heavy vellum and use like a stencil?
Unfortunately, not yet. I'm not giving up hope just yet. I have a few things to do today (packing for a 3 week road trip) so if I can get some extra time, I'd like to go down there again and continue this search. I have kept the two trash bags that are down there, I plan on going through them yet again. I WILL find this stamp LOL

Well, it's 4 months later and I still have not found my stamp :(
We cleaned out and moved around the basement this past weekend (it's where my craft area is) and no such luck.
So I contected Sunny Studios (where I bought the stamp set from) and they are sending me the piece that I am missing. I'm so grateful that I do not have to buy the whole entire set again just for one piece.

I couldn't find my Paper Smooches "Merry Kissmoose" sentiment a couple of weeks ago. I had it out and looked everywhere. But still no go. I DID buy the set again. I know the stamp will turn up, since Murphy lives in my craftroom.
What do you do when you find a stamp and have no clue what set it belongs to? It was in the water dish I dump my stamps in to wash after using. I must have missed it when I took them all out and rinsed.
Of course it is small, well, very small. That's how it got missed. I suppose I will go through my index and see if I can find it. Right now it is securely stuck to the outside of my MISTI lid...and very clean!
I'm constantly asking myself "how is this possible!??!" As in I just lost another stamp. One time my then 2 year old was crafting with me, and an entire stamp set disappeared, I found it months later stuck to the underside of the table, right where she had put it. I'm still missing another CTMH set, I have one of the stamps and the sentiment and the case that it came in, but no backer sheet. I have no idea what happened to it, it's been gone about 7-8 years. Good luck finding your stamp.

I know, right!? I found a tiny heart stamp a few weeks ago that I have never seen before!! No clue ... Murphy has a roommate in my craft room. What shall we name the gremlin that makes things appear?
What great customer service from Sunny Studios. I once found a missing stamp lodged in my Cuttlebug. No idea how it got there or how I kept just rolling things through, but there you go....

I personally think that it's gremlins that make things disappear, and the Good Stamp Fairy that makes them appear.

I lost three sticky-backed pins for a craft fair. I searched all the baskets, buckets for 2 weeks to no avail. As I was packing up from today's fair (where I had hoped my sister could also wear one as we shared a booth) they miraculously reappeared. Gremlins and fairies for sure!
That is so nice of Sunny Studios to help you out! I feel your pain! My problem is not finding where I put stuff. I put things where I think I will remember them and then can't find them. I try to use see-through containers and labels to help, but still have days I can't find things. Sometimes I have them on my pile on the craft table! Some days they are right in front of me, and I still don't see them!
