Default Help! unmounted stamps stuck to transperancy!

I need your help. I bought those cute birds from CHF, they are unmounted with the cling. I cut them & stuck them on the transperancy sheet & never used them. So this morning, I go to finally use them & they are stuck on there so much that I am pulling some of the backing off when I try to remove them from the transperancy sheet.
Has anyone ever had this problem? I don't want to ruin them! I think I probably sound nuts. I have been peeling at them ever so slowly but am still losing small chunks of the backing. Any suggestions anyone?

this may sounds strange, but have you tried freezing the stamp set to make it more solid. Haven't had that problem yet, let us know how you turn out

You could also try some UnDu, if you can find it. Maybe some cooking oil, too. I hope you can save your stamps. Good luck.

I tried the freezer & some cooking oil, both to no avail. I gave up for today, I don't want to ruin the stamps.

Sounds like you have stamps mounted on regular mounting foam with adhesive (meant for mounting permanently on wood blocks) rather than cling! You may want to remove everything down to the bare rubber and then remount the rubber with ez mount. good luck!

How would she remove everything down to the bare rubber? Would she do the microwave thing and if so, how long a time in the microwave? Can you tell I made a mistake and ordered a stamp "unmounted" thinking it would be bare rubber I could put on EZ Mount and instead it came ready to stick to a wood block~~which I don't want to do? Help!!

you microwave each stamp for 5-10 secs and that 'melts' the glue enough so you can peel off the foam. Good luck!

I had the same problems with some unmounted that I bought and mounted with EZ Mount. I put them on a laser transparency that I had (not one sent with the unmounted stamps) and I actually had to peel them off the transparency and remove the EZ Mount and re-do them. I chalked it up to using the wrong material (or the wrong side-rough side) of the transparency.
