For all of you looking for 1/4" grosgrain ribbon on sale, I just found where the following web site is selling the ribbon for 4.99/100 yards! (It's regularly $19.00/100 yards) Yes, that's right $4.99 for 100 YARDS! Please note, I have never purchased from this site before so I'm taking a risk, but for that price, I'm willing to give them a try.

I go through a ton of ribbon. All my workshops are totally hands on and I love to include ribbon on the cards. SU sells the ribbon in 25 yard spools (which is a lot!) but I go through it fast. I must have a ribbon fetish! :lol:
I'm planning on hanging the ribbon spools on a dowel so its easy to see which colors I have and easy to retrieve.

Thanks for the tip. I ordered! The site lists shipping times, so if everything is correct I should have my ribbons w/in the next week!

Thanks for the info...I love grosgrain and will share it with friends...that is as soon as I call them and let them know what the good deal is! I love the info sharing on stamping. It helps when you live where there are no craft stores to even buy it at regular prices!
Thanks for posting this, I just bought 5 different colors of ribbon. I bought a couple other things too. My total was $33 and the shipping was almost $8 but I didn't have to pay any tax.

I ordered 5 rolls and my shipping was $5 something. I chose priority mail, the other option was UPS ground which was $6 something.
Also, I just got a confirmation email -- very professional w/ info about the order and processing time, etc. It also says they will send tracking info once it is available.
As far as how long the sale lasts, I noticed several colors of ribbon were down to 2 - 3 rolls when I ordered, so I would guess they would sell out soon -- esp. if SCS members have anything to do w/ it!!
i have ordered from this site before. they ship really fast, and it is nice ribbon. The ribbon is a little more 'cruchy' or 'stiffer' than other ribbon, however, i think that it's a great deal!! Im happy with the product that I have received in the past from the site.
I found another great site that offers grosgrain by Offray in over 50 different colors for $8.80 (1/4 inch). The only drawback I see is that you have to spend $25. But I don't see that as a problem once I pick a few colors.

Thanks for this thread-although my husband and my checkbook wouldn't thank you. I just went to the save-on-crafts site and ordered $50 worth of ribbon. I was upset to see that they were out of alot of the grosgrain colors already. I browsed further and saw some of the organdy ribbon cheaper than SU! sells it for. Being the sucker that I am- Of course I had to order some of that too. Yikes! I hope the colors are real comparable.
Is anyone out there willing to swap a few yards for some of the colors that I bought. PM me and let me know please. Thanks.
I've ordered from JKM Ribbon and have had wonderful luck with them. The Offray grosgrain ribbon is the same texture as SU & as I recall they have pretty much all the SU colors except Taupe, plus a lot more (I love the shocking pink for Pink Passion & navy for Night of Navy). Prices are 100 yards of 1/4" ribbon for $8.80. They also have 1/4" Offray gingham check ribbon (you know that beautiful black & white ribbon we all love so much). It's called Offray Check (then click on Micro check). The Organdy ribbon like SU is from Morex.

If anyone is interested in swapping black, green, and yellow yards for some yards of the ones I bought ( orchid, pink, white, red) please let me know. I really would like to swap evenly with someone. I was bummed to see them out of the colors that I really wanted. :(

I got mine too. Now I just have to figure out where I'm going to store these huge spools! [I have all my ribbon in Sterilite containers but these definately won't fit] :-]
Ah, man! As they say, the early bird gets the worm! I just went to http://www.save-on-crafts.com/grosrib14brl.html and they were out of all but the Peach, Pink, Blue and Ivory. :( But, hey, can't complain for that price, right! I just wish the site would list on the first page what colors they were out of instead of having to click on "Add to shopping cart" for each color. Anyway, maybe I will get in on a swap when my order comes in!

As usual I saw this post way too late to order any ribbon. I did however come across another site that sells grosgrain ribbon for 100 yd spool and the prices are 1/4" .08 yd, 3/8" .09 yd, 5/8" .12 yd , 7/8" .15 yd and it evens gets bigger. This is still more than the cheap price the other site had but still it is cheaper than $20 a spool. Oh, the site is http://www.such-a-deal.com/gg.html. I haven't ordered from them yet so if anyone has please let us know about them.

I just ordered 9 rolls of 7/8" organdy (25 yards) for $2.35/roll. That's extremely cheap. My order won't be here until 10-27, so I'm not sure how well the colors will match, but I got the basics, so they should be close.
Have you ordered from them before? I noticed I was being charged a $5.00 packaging fee plus the shipping fee. It added almost $9.00 to my total. I thought I better find out more about them and if anyone has used them before I submitted my order.
I just placed my first order a few days ago. The shipping was around $9, but I figured that I saved a lot of money because my order was less than $30 through Papermart. The same order even with my discount, shipping and tax would have been over $60 through SU.
I placed an order with such-a-deal.com. But, I guess I was late last Friday because a lot of the colors were already gone! :( But, my order arrived yesterday and they had pretty good quality stuff. I was very impressed.
I checked out their site and I was wondering if anyone has shopped here before. Even though it wasn't as good a deal as such-a-deal.com, I'm still impressed by their prices. Are the colors pretty true to what we see on the screen?
For those that have ordered the ribbons from Save-On-Crafts, how well does the ribbon match Stampin Up paper? I have found that when I purchase products other than Stampin Up the colors are really off... :?
I received my order of organdy/organza ribbon today from www.papermart.com. I got light pink, light blue, emerald, wine, royal, ivory, white and red. All of the colors matched perfectly except the emerald. It was off from the Kelly Green SU sells. However, it is perfect for Green Galore and not too bad for Glorious Green.
What an awesome deal! The outside of the spools even exactly matched SU's except for the item number stickers.
