Default Does anyone else have the SU Flower Shop stamps & punch?

Hi,

I just got the SU Flower Shop stamps and punch. I also got the pansy stamps and punch. The pansy punch works beautifully and punches the image perfectly. I'm having issues lining up the flower punch stamped image. I went on youtube and found I wasn't the only one. I do not put stickers on the back, because they won't stick to my acrylic blocks. But does anyone who has the Flower Shop punch, have any tips or suggestions? I have worked on this most of the night with no success. I know you can put arrows on the back of the stamp, which is a huge help. But you have to know how the stamp is aligned and I just can't seem to figure that out.

If anyone knows of any videos that show how to do this, please let me know.

Thank you.

Beth

I found this wonderful video. Even though I throw my stickers out, I think maybe I can bring my stamps & punch to the computer and go along with this lady. She does a really good job. If I can figure it out, I can put little arrows on the back of my stamps Also, I heard some more fantastic news! Stampin' Up! is coming out with new stickers, that go on the back of clear mount stamps, next year! These stickers stick so well to the acrylic blocks, that you can't lift them off, as you would a stamp with no sticker. You have to pull these up, by the corner of the stamp. I can't wait to see this new batch of stickers. :-)

Here is the video I found:

Thanks for sharing. I have not used this stamp set and punch in a long time so I do not remember if I had any trouble. That is a terrific tip to remember.

DCinkit, I just now found another video on youtube and this is one that shows how to punch the flower out, turn it over and use the negative side, to line the stamp up. This video (for me) is the best tip I've seen. Thank you for commenting. Here is the video that I am saving to my favorites! :-)

Yes, this is a good one. Excellent tip for knowing how to figure out top & bottom of the image. Thanks for sharing.

it is! She is very clear with her instructions. Unfortunately, for me, I still can't figure this out. Mine still won't line up. I think I'm going to ask a neighbor who makes jewelry, if she could come over here, watch the video with me and let her try it. Sometimes, things that seem so hard are super easy. I just need a little extra help. LOL :-)

That is brilliant, and I will try it. I think I already have two different sets of markings on my stamps and I still struggle. Carol (Bobby's Girl) did explain it to me and I thought I had the hang of it, but I don't use it often enough to remember the tips she gave me.

I didn’t take the time to look at the videos but what I do, is stamp the flower. Look for the petal that is just a smidgen wider with a ‘dip’ in it. The punch has the corresponding dip. Line them up and everything else works too.

Hi cardmaker2, thank you for your comment and suggestion. I had been doing that, and I found the ever so tiny dip in the one petal, on all of them. For whatever reason, I just simply couldn't do it. I have marked the back of my clear mount stamps all over the place, because every time I thought I had it lined up, I didn't. I think I may have gotten it about right, last night. My stamps are all marked up on the back, but the long ones, stand out and tell me about where to place it on the paper. Thank you again for your help! :-)

Just coming back to report 100% success with labelling and punching my flowers after punching one blank template and using it upside to match up on all the stamps - and to say a HUGE thank you for having raised the question and provided a wonderful answer.

Hi Sabrina.........a little late to the party here but I put an arrow on my punch where that little dip is.........I stamp the image, turn the punch over and line the dip up with the little arrow and it works great every time. I'm happy you found a solution.
