Very cute idea, but a bit too much work for me to put into a cupcake wrapper.

speanburg4 12-24-2008 11:48 AM

I think it would be very easy to recreate one of those. I wouldn't do it every time I make cupcakes. But for a special occasion I think it would be very cute!!

chickadeelodge 12-24-2008 12:13 PM

Neat idea!

But I have to say that your caps just made me giggle when I read them..kind of like when we were kids and would have those sing-song sayings....

Thanks for the smile and I hope your keyboard reforms itself soon, lol!

Way cute!

pjw2855 12-24-2008 03:19 PM

It appears to be just a sleeve that would slip around the cup cake. Just the same as a sleeve around a cup of coffee from Dunkin Donuts. Would be very simple to make. I think it's a cute idea!

blizlady 12-24-2008 05:00 PM

Yes, just a sleeve to put around the finished cupcake. (Yay - my keyboard dried out and is working again!). That's why I thought about cutting a regular cupcake baking paper and using it as a template, but making sure to increase the diameter and height so that it will wrap around.

pjw3362004 12-24-2008 06:48 PM

I think it is agreat idea.

kellybee 12-25-2008 09:23 AM

very cute, and I like the up and down caps too!

The Easter cricut cartridge has a cupcake wrapper on it. I got it for $12.00 at Roberts Crafts. I did pay $3.00 for a wrap at a cupcake store for a pattern.

craftymomto2 03-08-2010 02:07 PM

bound4london 03-08-2010 02:15 PM

I'm SOOO doing this! Even just punching the tops makes it so cool! If this template is the right size you could run some DSP thru and make a dozen or so without too terribly much effort.... we already put more effort into everything we do than the rest of the world (cough cough Hallmark) because theres a crazy part of me that LOVES spending an afternoon doing this kind of thing... I think its AWESOME!

That one would be fast and easy IF that was the design you wanted on the edge of your cupcake but not so much if you wanted something else. For some other design (like the cook heart one that was shown on this thread) you'd have to attach something to cover the design on the die-cut one. If you were already going to be doing that, may as well just do them from a blank template in the first place instead of basically doing them twice.

mama2oliviamae 05-11-2010 07:33 PM

WOW! TFS this, seriously!

Our 21 year old niece just got engaged and between her mother, her mother's sister, me and the bride to be, I am the only one with an ounce of creativity in my bones so naturally, I've been doing A TON of planning and thinking about these kinds of things!

These would be LOVELY for her engagement party. THis is why SCS exists...for people like me who get roped into situations like this and then all the lovely ladies are around for brilliant ideas!

NikiM 05-12-2010 12:15 PM

I use lace doilies and also my Sizzix Cupcake wrapper die cut.
http://nikimeiners.wordpress.com/200...cake-olishish/ Is a link to them after I stamped and Smooch Spritzed them

casslarson 05-13-2010 07:32 PM

cupcakes are already good --- and then to add these would make them even better!!! i can't believe I typed that - hard to believe cupcakes could be Better!

lisa808 05-13-2010 08:22 PM

Syrinx, thanks for the template.

kdawn 05-14-2010 05:16 AM

HoosierMama 05-14-2010 06:37 AM

I've also bought some SVG files to cut them on my Cricut. I'm getting ready to make a bunch for graduation. SVGfiles.com has a bunch.

Have you seen the new line at Michael's from Wilton? They are so inexpensive and with 40% off coupons worth every penny.
