Covered mini comp book curling

I got a couple of mini comp books from Staples and covered one with DP and now the covers are bowed out. I used regular white paper glue, and even let it dry under a stack of heavy books, but it didn't help! I'm not sure if the cover stock was thinner than normal mini comp books or if the DP I used was thicker than normal, or maybe a combo of both? Anyone have a solution for this? I have another one that I plan on covering, but if this is going to happen again, I won't bother.

It sounds like your problem mostly has to do with the wetness of the white glue. When I do composition notebooks I use a dry adhesive. ATG or red line tape have worked really well for me in the past. Hopefully you can find a solution to your adhesive woes (comp books are so much fun)!

I have also had excellent results with double-stick adhesives for altered notebooks. If the cover is a heavier weight of chipboard, you can also adhere the paper with Mod Podge ... but will need a "light hand" to spread a very thin layer. Sounds like too much liquid soaked into the notebook cover. Good luck. Don't give up .. .. make some adjustments in the products you're using though. ;)
