Anyone else do this, too? Made 9 Halloween cards using the SU Spooky Cat paper, stamps, punch, etc. from last year-for 2 days my kitchen table was a total disaster. I had paper, inks, stamps, scissors, glue dots and various other craft supplies spread all over and still kept losing stuff. Am STILL picking shreds of Mono Multi glue from my fingers! Almost flipped my black inkpad upside down on the rug more than once... and...only...made...nine...cards 🤔🙄😯😜 But- I had a blast and I think friends and family enjoyed receiving them...that's why we do it, right?
I can make that kind of mess in that amount of time and only have ONE card to show for it, so kudos to you for knocking out NINE of them! That's not all of the time, thankfully, but it has happened more than once...
Yep. It's about the fun for you not just the recipient's happiness.
When I garden I have to sit on the ground and inch along to weed. So when I am done I look like pigpen. Seriously. But I enjoy it very much. Same thing.
i’ve never understood the after-card mess. Or after-backgrounds mess. How do supplies I haven’t even used fall from shelves, drawers, the ceiling, thin air to make one glorious mess?
Oh yes, that happens to me every time I start making a card. And like many others the card isn't even complete. I rarely manage to finish one card in a day because of lack of time, so when I go back to complete it I am in shock of the mess I made previously. And the black ink pad always seem to be around and open when I don't need it.
I managed to get 6 cards done out of my mess. Heard back from all six people how much they loved them. So the mess was all worth it an I'm a happy stamper.
Now that I'm retired, I get to spend many days like that! What a mess - but I am blessed with an amazing husband who loves that I'm happy!
Exactly just as long as your happy!!!
As an aside, I love Florence OR, many years ago I stopped by a wonderful scrapbooking store there while on vacation.
Jcmara...scrapbooking stores the small friendly ones now gone and we have the internet and big stores. How sad...I used to love when we traveled and found local craft stores. No more small friendly yarn and sewing stores either. But I am happy with way too much “stuff” and making cards everyday! At 82 I have lots of time to make a mess.

This made me laugh out, old! This happens to me. Another thing that happens is , in this mess, I use something, turn around, and the something is gone, literally in two seconds it disappeared. I think it hides itself under something, or the thing that fell out of thin air covered it! LOL

Craftermath is the exact term for what my room looks like during and after a craft project. Since I go from project to project, I hardly ever completely clean up. If someone comes over to craft with me or I know we will be out of town for awhile, I will do a complete job. It always looks so nice that many of my friends think that's how it always looks! I took a picture recently of a project in progress and sent it too them. Now they know the truth.

Love it! Since I would never have anything to drink in my stamp room (I don't like coffee or tea and am not an intake person), so my hot chocolate or Wassail would be in the living room, but I sure can see that as holding paint brushes, pens/markers or as my rinse water when painting. I bought one a while back that said, "I feel like craft today."

Do you remember where you bought the mug? I need to get that one!
I wouldn’t take my craftermath mug into my craft room either... {imagining the spillage}...
I got it at a lovely yarn shop in Alexandria,VA. I will contact my daughter for the name, as if I remember correctly, it was clever too. I will get back to you, just wanted to let you know I wasn't ignoring your question.

It's called "Fiber Space" (fibre space - a yarn universe Don't see any on their online store, but maybe if you contact them them have some in the brick and mortar store.

OT - Mugs!
Thank you! They no longer carry it, but mugs, travel mugs, etc. can be customized on Zazzle, so I’ll make one there - unless it’s trademarked, but Zazzle is careful about that and will let me know if that’s the case. I made some coins - they sell them as poker chips - with a saying on them for a group of people once, and they came out great.

 Yep! I was on hands & knees yesterday looking for the lid that jumped off my Quickie Glue Pen when it fell to the floor. Gave up when knees screamed. Then suffered the guilt of "but it's my only Quickie pen" so went back to the floor a 2nd time. On the 3rd visit to the floor, I spotted the darned thing .... waaaaaaay over there!

Why is it always waaaaaaaaay over there!? Or under there!? I can’t get on my knees or squat so I’ll be bent over at the waist, big butt in the air, nose to the ground, blood rushing to my head.

OMG, you all hit it right on the head. I've never been able to figure out how I can watch the darn thing fall and still lose track of it. Then I finally find it a couple of feet away hiding under something else. Always makes me wonder how stuff "bounces" on carpet.

I am at a craft retreat. First day couldn’t find my baby wipes , I know I packed. Sooo, someone did a Walmart run and brought me back some. A few minutes later, I couldn’t find the new ones! So, a lady down the table threw me another package of baby wipes, and said, now you will find them. I did. Found the ones they brought me, and the ones I packed! Of course that isn’t the only thing I have lost since I have been there. But finding that we all are doing it. LOL

I can so imagine that! Where were the ones you packed? Inquiring minds...
It’s a virus.
My poor craft room is in such a mess right now that even I can't stand to open the door and enter! I tend to work on several projects all at the same time, so there is no rhyme or reason to any of the supplies I pull out. Right now I have fall and winter, and Christmas supplies out...and then of course there are all the general supplies that I always use (trimmer, a multitude of ink pads, card blanks, pens and markers, scor-tape, etc. etc. etc).
I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who doesn't work on one card at a time and then put everything away in between.
Trying to get up the courage (and energy) to go in there tomorrow and see if I can at least get to the craft table, haha!

Yes, it’s a win-win! We have fun, relax, & create little works of art. My recipients generally enjoy and like my cards. Maybe not as much as I enjoy making them.
Who knows. I never expect anyone to save them. My cousin says she has all of them. My one daughter has saved many. So it’s all good!
I actually got my thanksgiving cards out way ahead. They were very involved and it made me feel better they would be displayed a bit longer than if they had arrived later.
