Default Please help me decide...

I've starting working on my Christmas cards for this year and this is what I've come up with so far. My mother in law found a huge pile of gold paper at a yard sale (I think she paid like .50 cents for all of it) and I was hoping to use the gold paper for my Christmas cards this year. I'm trying to make my cards quick and easy because I have to make so many of them.

The first card (lace tree) I cased from SusieB.

The second card (winter village) I like, but it seems to be missing something and putting the glitter on the roof of the houses was a bit time consuming.

The third card I made using my Cricut- this card has the least amount of layering and is probably the easiest to make.

Please tell me which card you like the best and if I should change anything. I'd really like to hear what you ladies think. Thanks so much!

I think the Cricut card gives you the most Wow! for the least amount of work.

All three of them turned out very elegant...but I do have to agree with roseolson that the Cricut card stands out the best.

All of your cards are beautiful! I would love to receive any one of them. If you would like some glitter on the 'village' one, you could use the Spica glitter pens. The clear one would work nicely. It would just add a little sparkle. If the quantity and time issue is most important then go with the Cricut card. As I said, all your cards are beautiful. (Lucky you that your MIL scored on the gold paper-perfect for this time of year.)

Thank you so much for your compliments and suggestions. I didn't mention in my original post that the reason I'm trying to make them quick and easy and that I'm also almost 8 months pregnant and my son's birthday is next week and in general it's a busy time of the year and I'm not able to put forth the extra effort on my cards this year as I normally would.

I was almost tempted to just buy Christmas cards this year, but everyone knows that I make them and some of my friends and family have told me that they look forward to seeing my cards.

Wow! I think you should do all of your cards in all 3 designs. Then you will be set for the next 3 years! I like #2 the best. It's peaceful and glittery. But if time and volume is an issue, then #3 would be good.

I like all three of them. But with everything you have going on, I would go with number three. Elegant, but easy! It is definitely a Wow! card.

Love all the cards! Question though, how did you do the cricut one? I have the original cricut but don't know too much about it or what to do with it. I would love to hear what you did. I've looked at the cricut forum but it's overwhelming for me.

TIA,
Maureen

I love all of them and would be happy to have any of them. But with the time limit. I think I would go with #3 It also lets you use more of the gold paper. Good luck with the birth of you new baby and Happy birthday to your son.

All of them gorgeous and I think that #3 really stands out and showcases your MIL gold find the best.

I would do that for the bulk of the cards and then maybe do a few of the others for special cards to "mother, father, brother, sister "

I would be excited to receive any of them to be honest though!

They are all very nice. I know you have time constraints, but instead of making all the same card, can you make several of each design. That way you'll have a variety.

They're all beautiful, but I LOVE the third one - the fact that it's quickest and easiest is just a much-needed bonus!

Congratulations on your new baby - what a busy , but fun, holiday season for you!

I agree with you the Cricut forum is overwhelming for me also, but I think it's because I'm new at it and I'm still learning how to use my machine.

I just purchased the 'Joys of the Season' cartridge and this is the first time that I've used it. I put in my cartridge, loaded my paper (I used 8 1/2" x 11" paper), and I pressed the button that reads 'Merry Christmas' (bottom row- fourth white button over), then I pressed the card button (it's a grey button on the left side of the key pad), I set the size dial on the right side of my machine to 5 1/2" and then press cut.

I added some paper piercing around the edges using my SU mat pack and then I cut my gold paper and adhered it to the inside of my card. The last thing I did was tie on the ribbon.

I hope this helps, if you have any more questions feel free to send me a message.

I'm sure I am repeating some of the above posters but all three are beautiful.
I love them all.
I do agree that the second one needs the glitter on the roof tops for added wow!

Great job!

They are all beautiful but I especially love the third one (and you said it took the least amount of time, so bonus there).

You are right that the second one is missing something, maybe ribbon or gold cord across the top (just as a suggestion).

I really like the first one! It is very elegant! I might try some gold ribbon instead of the white! Might give you the punch you are looking for! Great bargain on the paper too!

I'm gonna vote for the third one, too. It shows off the lovely gold paper your MIL found, it's beautiful and elegant, and easy to make.

Anyone would be happy to receive a card like that.

Congrats on your expected arrival and best wishes for a Merry Christmas!

All three are just terrific. For speed I'd have to save go with #3, but for sheer elegance, #1 knocks the roof off.

Just a thought, but for a bit of time saving and supply saving too you wouldn't really have to have the ribbon on it. IMHO, it would look as elegant just plain.

I applaud your dedication to making a whole bunch of these with all you have going on right now.

You really can't go wrong with any of them- they are all beutiful designs! For your sanity though, I say go with what is easiest. The last thing you want to do is add stress to your life right now! Besides, it will be more fun to make the others when you have more time to enjoy the process!

I would say that I love them all and couldn't decide but that 8 months pregnant and easiest one thing makes it a no brainer - do #3 and use any extra time you have to take a nap!!!!!!

Since they really are all beautiful, and you have a ton going on, I'd say go with the easiest. And I agree with another poster, that on the first one (for another time) I'd try it with gold ribbon! Good luck with all you have going on!

All three of them are gorgeous! My fav would have to be #2. But if it were me I would choose two designs because I would get bored of making only one style. So if I would choose 2 cards it would be #2 and #3. But I'd love to receive either one!

Truthfully? I like a combo of #1 and #3. Take #3, and layer it just like you did #1, if that makes sense. The layering on the first card looks more polished, with the gold border around the white main layer. I also think you should use the white organdy ribbon from the first card, rather than the gold ribbon. Somehow it takes away from that lovely text you did with the Cricut.

Hope that made sense, and didn't sound too critical -- I really do love your cards!
