Not true really. Yes those who have them here say copics, but I have read many posts on art board that say why pay double the price and get Trias or Prismacolors. There are some on the art boards who do not think Copics are better than Trias. I ordered both prismacolor and Trias. Trias are half the price of Copics and they are also manga anime markers.
This is a very expensive purchase so I recommend you not rush into it. There are lots of websites that compare Tria, Copic and Prismacolor. Just google them. There are frequently sales on all of these. These are professional markers, which is why they are so pricey.

I would think that you are better off with a cheaper marker for now. You are just starting out and really should spend your $$$ on stamps, quality cardstock, patterened paper, etc. There are easy ways to make your cards look nice without spending that huge amount of $$$. Especially since you've said a lot of times that you are on a budget. People on a strict budget aren't buying Copic markers. I would get a nice set of Prismacolor pencils and some odorless mineral spirits and blending stumps. You'd get a LOT more bang for your buck with those rather than Copics.
I don't have them..i use SU watercolor crayons..or the primapencils..and blender..copics are very expensive..and i would rather spend my money on other goodies..
loves ya

I love the Copics......I've wanted them for over a year. But right now I just can't afford them, & because I still haven't made up my mind as to which kind to get (sketch or ciao).....I won't buy them. It's a huge investment, & I need to be 100% sure of what I want. I do have about 30 Prismas. I like them, I only have those that match SU colors. I don't think they blend as well as the Copics, but they work for me. For now. LOL!
Please don't rush into buying anything. A lot of people are buying the Copics, only to find out there is a huge learning curve with them. I know how to use them because I took a class. If I had to figure it out on my own, I probably couldn't.
Or.....buy one Prisma & one Copic & do your own comparison! Then you can be absolutely sure which you like better
