How much gum arabic to you mix with pearl ex??? Am I right that this can be used to make the pearl ex adhere to paper??? Or does it do something Else??? Thanks.

The one I have is different:
1/2 tsp pearl ex, 1/2 tsp gum arabic, drop of water.
Stir until completely mixed. Allow to sit out until dry (uncovered). Use like watercolors.
I just used this in a class and it was a big hit. I'm making more tonight (different colors).
Good luck!

Do you use the Aqua Brushes, Blender Pens or regular paint brushes? Does this work like the Twinkling H2Os?

I bought all the stuff to try it, but haven't gotten around to it yet.

Thanks

Default Pearl Ex & Gum Arabic

I got my liquid gum arabic at the local art supply store. If you have a friend, or tow, or three, get together and share a bottle. I bought the smallest bottle @ $5.95 for 75ml and I'll NEVER got throught the entire bollte. I have made several batches and haven't even made a noticable dent in the bottle of gum arabic.

Also, while you are there pick up a cheap pallet tray and use it to mix up the different colors and you'll end up with a great pallet to use like watercolors. I just use a regualr paint brush and water to paint the mixture onto my cardstock.

I also got mine at an art supply store, and have seen it at Michaels. You have to look in the painting section. It is often used with watercolors.
I mix mine in those stackable pill boxes (the round ones) that they have at walmart (or any drugstore) for that matter. That way I can neatly store them when I'm not using them.
Here's a link to one just to see what I mean:

I got mine at walmart, and they come with little white labels, so you can write on the outside what color you have.
