Twenty six is a lot of masks! They are more work to sew than they look like! There are probably fixes if they don't fit perfectly; they can probably figure something out. Some of mine weren't perfect either. In fact, I have a couple that are major fails; embarassing even!
My friend made me one I love, but the ear elastic is not long enough, so I might try making one of those ear savers I saw on the internet, so I can wear it.
I quit making the ones with ear elastic, because I notice they hurt the ears after a bit. But lots of people are making the ear savers to use with them. I made some with the elastic around the head, but it does take more elastic. In fact, I used almost all my elastic, so I've gone to t-shirt yarn.
It's good to see you too!

This was the best video I found on making t-shirt yarn.

Hope this shows up. It is the PDF link to Sweet Poppy's mask pattern with cords/ties.

I love Mimi G's and Sweet Poppy's patterns the best!
Here is a link to Sweet Poppy's page. I like that she has free kid's pattern too.

I make sweet poppy's masks with the casings for men, but I have the ties facing upwards instead of down, so they tie at the top of the head.

I like Mimi G's pattern best for women.

Default Mask ties

I’ve been making my ties with straight-of-grain fabric, 1” folded in half and serged along the raw edge. Goes pretty quick and MUCH easier than making bias!

Great idea Laura! I don't have a serger, but I guess someone could just zig zag stitch along the edge.

I am not the greatest sewer. I have tried to make ones with bias. They look awful. My sister told me they were happy with the elastic ones I have given her. I am just happy to do what I can.
I am so glad others are using their talent to make so many!
Happy Sewing!

That's awesome Joan! Some of mine didn't turn out great either, but I figure it was a trial and error thing to see which ones turned out the way I wanted. I found out that my steam iron leaked badly, so I just have to use a mister bottle to spray water with and just use the iron on regular heat. Long as it works!

I’m so jealous of the serger. That would make things so much easier but I think my husband would kill me if I got another machine. He hates my sewing machine as it is, it’s so loud.

I just want to say to all of you making masks, YOU ARE AWESOME! No matter whether it is with elastic, hair ties, regular ties, whatever--everybody's heads are different--so whichever you use, it will be helpful for someone. Also, no matter whether it is for yourselves, family, or to donate to friends who are compromised or for others working in healthcare, it will be used to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 and, for that, YOU ARE AWESOME! THANK YOU.

Yes, a big thank you to everyone who has made masks or are making them now. I wore a mask for the first time two days ago and was happy to see that every single person I saw shopping that day had them on as well. As difficult as the restrictions are during this time, I really do feel that following them will lessen the impact of the virus.

Chris, your masks look amazing and I'll have to see if I can find an old tee shirt and try some of the tee shirt ties. I just use a spray mister bottle when I iron anyway, instead of using the steam feature because I don't have distilled water. My sewing machine and iron are both shocked to see the light of day!

Default Handmade Paper PIF

I finally got around to posting some of the extras that I have had in my stash for a long time and am starting with this. I have quite a lot of handmade paper and have two of these bundles. The papers are different thicknesses, but all are thicker than mulberry paper. The pieces are about 4.5 x 6.5 inches, with the orange piece being smaller (as shown).

Please PM me if you are interested. US only.

I have various colors of vellum, including a few patterned vellum and am wondering it there is any interest? If so, I'll post a photo of what I have.

Great! Is it okay if I just skip the photo and send an assortment of colors and patterns? Do you want any cloud vellum (clear with a subtle white swirl through it) or just colored and patterned vellum?

Karen, I don't need to see a photo. Any that you have to pass along is fine. I just enjoy adding a bit to my cards.

Okay, will do. I've been seeing a lot of vellum lately on cards and am glad to see it having a come-back.

I have four stamp sets that I no longer want. They're old... I would prefer they all go to the same home so the shipping won't cost me a ton. The sets are all SU: Crazy for Christmas (2007), Merry (2007), Fun Fillers (year??), Valentine Defined (2011).

With the shelter in place happening, I won't get them shipped until I leave the house to go to the grocery store - so it would be a week before I would send them.

Let me know if you're interested.

Isn't it strange how we are all learning to plan our weeks and days to involve consolidating errands, with less driving? Very good for the environment!

Thank you Louise! I got your wonderful buttons yesterday! They will be so helpful! I love how you had them adhered to the sticky sheets! Where did you find those; they are awesome. When I pulled them apart, all but one of the sheets was intact, so I was able to put the loose buttons on the other sticky sheets! Thank you!!!! I will reuse the envelopes also!
I found the perfect pattern to make the headbands/ear savers on Hobby Lobby's website! They also had a scrub hat pattern and some other mask patterns. They had one mask that was an octagon shape; not sure how that would work, but may be worth a try. They even had face shield patterns and shoe cover patterns. So cool!

Kazeka, I agree with you! Less trips causing less polution is awesome! On a show the other day, they said that they are finding virus particulates in the air, especially in smog and air pollution. Just another good reason to help the enviornment; self preservation!
Thank you again Louise! Hope everyone is well and having a blessed day!

Louise, thank you for the brads. They'll be handy with a particular die set I have that makes a Swiss Army type pocket knife with folding blades!

Wow, what a fun die set. I've never seen anything like this but brads will make it interactive! I checked it out on Amazon but looks like it's out of stock...argh! Now I think I need it!

Default PIF, I found more vellum!

As I went through some boxes under my craft desk I discovered more vellum! So, I am offering a couple more packets of vellum assortments. Some are solid colors and others are patterned. Here is a sample of some of the patterned vellums so you can see what they look like.. I didn't photograph all that I have but you can get an idea of what I'm talking about. I will also put in some random silver paper with a soft sheen.

I couldn't believe how much vellum I had but apparently I had purchased actual bulk packs of the stuff years and years ago. They were still in unopened packages! As vellum is making a come-back I'd better keep some out on my desk so I'll use it. These are only the patterned designs that I show, there will also be solid colored ones, and some white.

PM me if you are interested in some.
