reminds me, when I was getting divorced I had so many stamp sets (stampin up) and was selling them all, so I took images from all of them...I probably have a big box somewhere with all those images...I had my mom, friend and daughter all helping me stamp them...lol

Here is a card I used with a Mermaid die cut sent to me. It was just what I needed to make this card.

I just love the way that background turned out! The water drops look like bubbles and it looks like she's swimming up through the sea. Just gorgeous

Yes, she PM'd me and said she's been having a rougher recovery than expected so is trying not to strain her eyes. Eye surgery is no joke, ugh. I've had a couple myself, and still having to use two different drops. One is permanent, and one will be stopping soon. My medicine shelf in the linen closet looks like a pharmacy!

aw oh, my bad! Maybe they were from Jeri or one of the other ladies here. I write things down, but I guess I'm not writing enough detail to know what is what. DER!!! That's part of the reason I don't put who sent me something on the posts of my cards, as I am afraid I will get confused and credit the wrong person. I'm getting goofier every day!

I try to keep track of who sent me what, as well as challenge or giveaway prizes that I win but it's a losing battle. Tried to keep a sheet of adhesive labels at my craft table so I can label things, but then I lose the sheet of labels..argh!

This reminds me that I have a lot of chipboard, and I need to start using it! I've used chipboard alphabets on some layouts and I covered some chipboard shapes with patterned paper as embellishments. However, I haven't done that in a long time...so I'd better get to it!

Looking for some assist with something.

I offered to do an index card for the gallery for "Best Fiends" from 2006. Unfortunately, I just realized I had forgotten that I don't have the full set. I am missing 3 stamps--Boo, Happy fright night, and the spider.

Wondering if anyone has this set, would it be possible for you to stamp and send me images of those 3 stamps? They could all be stamped on a single piece of white cardstock (just big enough and spread apart enough that I could cut them into individual square/rectangular images) that could fit into a small envelope.

If you can help me, please send me a PM. Thank you.

Please disregard my earlier request for these images as I have removed myself from completing the index card on this set.

Has anyone heard from Hawaii? I sent her a card recently, but I haven't heard anything from her. I know she's had a rough time with her eye surgeries and losing her beloved dog. I just hope she is doing alright!

Hi, Sek! I've been going through some of the "life upheavals" lately, (nothing health related, thank goodness), so haven't found time to be around much. But... HI! I'm here! The last few days I have been able to spend a bit more on time on SCS. I miss the PIF threads, since they were the place I'd look to chat and check in on people. Now everyone's scattered, and that's if they're even on SCS these days. I've checked out this thread, but you know me, I get nervous with new (to me) peeps and new (again, to me) rules. Add in that I need to go to the post office to mail stuff, (no mail delivery to my house) and it takes me forever and a day sometimes to get to the post office, and... You get the idea. lol I also made myself crazy trying to figure out what to offer, because who knows what people like these days???

Forgive me if this has already been done, and I didn't see it, but I was thinking that maybe we could have a thread or something somewhere that people could list things they liked or would find useful. Even things like colors they preferred. Maybe things they definitely didn't like. Then we could look there and get an idea of what we could offer. I don't mean ASKING for those things, just putting it out there in case someone else happened to have whatever it might be and didn't want or need it anymore. Does that even make sense? I'm just thinking (typing) out loud. For example, I have tons of stuff I would gladly pass on if I knew someone would get use out of it. It makes it so much easier to let go of things when you know it will used or make someone smile. Please disregard this whole post if A) it's already been done, B) it's a dumb idea because ... blah, blah, blah (reasons that didn't occur to me) C) it's too much bother.

Pam,

This thread isn't so concerned with filling the specific wants of others as it is just offering things you no longer use, wonder why you bought in the first place, had left over, liked so much you bought it twice (my particular habit!) etc. It's a Pay It Forward in the truest sense. If you want to post something, anyone can claim it or not. Most things go, some things don't get claimed (especially now that it's so much slower on SCS). There just aren't a lot of rules. If you offer something, you pay postage to send it to the person who wants it (which can sometimes limit what one can offer- postage is the pits!). It is to be hoped that at some point in the future, people who accept offers will post something of theirs, but there's no immediate time frame or anything like that. You can always look back through the thread to see what has been offered in the past, if you want to. I would never say A, B, or C! It's just never been the way Pay It Forward has operated. It's much more geared to finding you have things not getting used, and offering them so someone who might like them can make use of them. If you stick around, I think you'll see that the ladies (so far, no guys) are all quite friendly, generous, and kind.

Thanks for the info. I have read some of the pages, but it's been awhile. I was just trying to save myself some time, I guess. I've got totes full of sets I wouldn't mind passing on to someone who'd give them some love. But, no time or patience to take pictures and list all of them. Trying to guess what would be most likely to be wanted makes me crazy, I can't make up my mind. lol (Major "overthinker" here.) Totally understand about the not asking for things rule though. It could/would change the whole purpose and intent of the thread.

It seems like the busiest times are summer (with trips and vacations, and people busy with their families) and the winter holidays. That means less time for crafting or even thinking about crafting . I've been spending lots of time at my daughter's, helping with the grandkids or having them here. That means loads of fun but seriously cuts into my online browsing time!

Hope everyone is having a great summer, and that's keeping you all busy.

I know what you mean about it being easier to let something go if you know it will definitely get used! I often donate unused craft items to the local senior center, where I volunteer to teach cardmaking classes, and it's always so much fun to see my extras being used and loved. I browse the boards and posts off and on but only checked out this thread several months ago so it took me a little bit of time to get the hang of it. I still have a few things I want to offer up, but just need to get myself organized to photograph and post. The days are just flying by this summer...eek!

Default new cards

I finally had some time to make cards. I need fall like birthday cards. I remembered the daisy die cut that Faye sent me in the winter. I decided to use fall colors. Here are 2 of my designs.

Sorry I don't know how to change the size. I will need to ask one of my sons.

Oooh, I love the look of these in fall colors. Fall is my favorite time of year and I always like the rich, warm colors for autumn. Did you use the Sizzix steel rule die for the flowers?

Very nice cards, Joan! I don't think I have made a card in at least 6 weeks! All my time has been taken up with other things. I do have plenty of cards I have made to send out when I need one.

I hope to get back to making some cards soon. I love doing some of the challenges.

I am sure I have some things that should be posted for moving to new homes.

I hope everyone is having a good summer.

we just got electricity back yesterday...there were what the count may or may not be 9 tornadoes...one was just a couple miles from me...this last saturday...i was at work and the power just went out...businesses and everything..my dd's bf had a video of how the electric breakers were just popping like fireworks..my mom had my car and was driving and she said the car was swaying and jerking she saw a shopping cart rolling by and decided to stop the car on the side and there was a 12 in rushing water at her feet that day...

Oh my gosh Sande, how frightening. I'm in California so we've been having several earthquakes, but there are potential natural disasters everywhere it seems. Stay safe!

I have another Waverly stencil like in post #1133 (Chevron) if anyone would like it. Just send me a PM with your info. I can only mail in the U.S..
I saw it reduced at Walmart the other day and grabbed it up, as I thought someone here might like it. Sorry I don't have more to share now; still trying to catch up on housework; so far behind!

What a whirlwind of a July it's been for me. We had my granddaughter here for several days, right after we hosted family for a day of eating and visiting. Since my craft room doubles as the guest room I couldn't do any card-making but the worst part was having to clean it up so it was suitable for sleeping!!

Chris, yes, by it's very nature housework is never-ending. Why won't the furniture stay dusted once it's done?!! And don't get me started on vacuuming...ugh.

Sande, glad you got your electricity back but what a frightening storm. Hope no one you know sustained damage.

Jeri, I think most of us make more cards than we send out. That seems to be the nature of the hobby! I've been going through mine recently to see what I actually have!

Hope everyone is doing well on this first day of August.

Karen
