Hi all,
I'm new and this is my first post! I've really enjoyed this site and check it every day. My question - How do you all store your cardstock so that it's handy?
Claudia
Mine is in hanging file folders, one for 12x12 and one for 8.5x11 by color. I have all the SU pens, so I hav a 'spot' of the color that is in the folder on it's tag. So in case I don't remember exactly what color Barely Banana is, I can see it on the label without having to open the file folder.

I'm pretty new at stamping but, this is what I use to store my paper. I purchased a desktop plastic 3 drawer thingy. They can stack on top of each other, and I put all the same color catagories in each drawer, as in soft subltes, earth elements, etc. It's just my idea for organizing my stamp supplies are growing so who knows I may have to change at some point, and I only use 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock so I don't have two sizes to deal with at this time either.
I too am new and purachased all the colours of paper (trial pack sizes). I puchased a portable file (at Costco) It is an expanding file folder with 21 pockets with tabs. I have sorted them 2-3 paper colours from same group (eg soft subtles - perfect plum, pale plum, lavender lace) and labeled the tabs so I always know what colour is what. It makes it easy to cart my cardstock to my demonstrators house for an afternoon of stampin.
I have mine in hanging file folders. I put CS according to each color group then alphabetized in each group. That's 48 file folders. Then the lables I cut out the actual Cardstock color for them along with writing the actual color name on them. That way I know what color. I also write down the catalog item # so I know what color to order. I arranged them per color group in my file box one column per color group (you know those little holes on the file folder where you attach the plastic label) so they are aligned by each group and easier for me to just get the color I want. I do have separate drawers for vellum and white (neutral) cardstocks and separate file folders for the other kinds of paper we have like mulburry and tags, etc.
You could also buy the Target Cubes or something similar. They are originally made to make six cubes but people make it 2 cubes tall and use all the other frames to make shelves to store their paper.
I had a picture at one time of what one looks like when set up this still way. I am off to a brayer class and then work but will try when i get home to see if ic an find it if your interested
I also have a hanging file system that I have separated with the four color groups. It works really well for me. One of my customers has started her own business selling the file tabs and some other SU organizational tools. Check out her website http://getorganized.homestead.com/Our_Products2.html
I've never been able to find file folders for my 12x12 papers, but recently I was so excited to find the clear plastic stackable paper trays for 12x12 papers. I bought a box of six paper trays for $30 at Craft Warehouse in Vancouver, WA. They're just like the ones in the scrapbooking stores and I love seeing all of my paper at once. Very cool!
