Default Palette Ink/Craft Ink

Are these the same thing? just different name?

No, they aren't quite the same. Craft Ink is pigment ink. Palette is a brand name and is a hybrid. It's quick drying like dye-based ink but archival like pigment. Palette is a nice ink, too. It's waterproof and works on most, if not all, surfaces.
