Hi everyone,
A few people asked me how I organized my Embossing Folders so I posted the info. Hope this helps or gives you ideas of how to make it work for you. Thought i'd share http://craftingwithclass.blogspot.co...g-folders

Thanks for sharing - I love the idea of the swatches! Have you thought at all about how you will do a swatch with some of the new folders like the flourished frame?
I thought I was organized until I saw that post! LOL
For mine, I print a label with the name of the folder, then put it at the very top, center of the folder. I then put them in a bucket, alphabetized. That way, I can always find the one I'm looking for!

I have one of those "Really Useful Boxes" in the 3 quart size and mine are all standing in it alphabetically. I love this system. I also put a label on the top right of the folder so I can easily tell which one it is.
blessings.
Since I carry my folders around to different classes and events, I store them in a 3 ring notebook. (pages to hold folders are available from CropStop.com) A woodenbox would be to heavy for my use.
That said, I LOVE your idea of making tags and and using numbers. I will just number the pockets in my binder with a Sharpie pen.
Wow, that is awesome organization. I am going to try the swatch thing. I have texture plates for my Big shot and that would help me to rememer what I have.
I clicked the link for your blog almost an hour ago, and am just now getting back! Love your organization ideas, and found the place on eBay where you got the card swatches - thanks! I've bookmarked your blog so I can come back regularly.
After being inspired by your storage, I was in Target today and saw a smaller cloth-covered box that was just the right size to hold my embossing folders... and future embossing folders!! For now, the few dies I have are filling in the gap so the folders stay upright. I'm definitely going to make your swatch book so I'm not flipping through folders all the time!!
thanks Karli. I have mine in a similar box. Mine is a drawer that has 2 dividers in it. In each section I've put an index card to show me what's in each section. Then this drawer pushes into a hard cardboard sleeve. It's for photos, I believe. Picked it up at a scrapbook/stamp store. LOVE it!

The possibilities are endless. I store mine in CD cases with magnetic strips. I have seen where some will cut magnetic vent covers, and slip them in CD wallets. I wanted them portable so I can take them when I leave the house, so it works for me.
WOW! I just got back from M's and they had sales galore - I walked by the boxes...didn't know what to do with them - GOOD GRIEF! Your system is so great - Love the little card idea with the patterns! Very creative!
Thank you everyone for your comments & I'm so glad you've found it helpful BTW, thanks for correcting my typo. I didn't even realize I had typed Jim instead of Tim, LOL! How embarrassing! But it's been corrected ;) For Nesties storage, yes I do have a previous post on my blog about that. I didn't use magnet material because I often work near my computer & I was advised (by a tech person) against having magnetic material near my computer. If you'd like, you can check that out in this link. Thanks again! http://craftingwithclass.blogspot.co...dvd-cases

Love the way you organized your embossing folders. But I have a question for you. Where did you get the new embossing folders. I have been haunting the stores since July and still haven't seen them. Could only preorder them and they wouldn't be in until the middle of August online.

Karli -I have to laugh.. I use the cd storage idea but it NEVER dawned on me to take OUT THE black part! LOL I have been struggling with the "bump" in the middle with all of them! Oh good grief! I am so glad I popped over to check it out! Thanks a bunch! Also didn't think about the DVD cases.. I am so IN THE BOX!

I got my new CB Folders from The Home Shopping Network, all 11 of them for only $34.00 what a steel. A bunch of us here at SCS bought them. They are really nice, you're going to love them when you can get them. Why not try to go to HSN and see if they still have any in stock, it's worth a few clicks of the mouse.
Have a happy stamping or embossing day!

I store my cuttlebug folders in Stampin' Up plastic cases.
My Nestabilities are in CD cases.
Thanks for the great ideas for keeping the folders organized. I'm going to have to put them on a ring like you did and include my SU ones too. Great ideas!

I bought a recipe box for $1 at Michaels to store my Cuttlebug folders. They fit nicely, but on the side. Thanks for the idea of the swatches. It is so easy to forget what you have.
great ideas! Love your box and the swatch book is wonderful! I don't have a lot of folders yet, but that is a great idea that I think I wills start. Oh, and thanks for enabling me. I see that some of the new folders are some I definitely want to get!
I store all my CB folders in the blue SU boxes they sold last year - the ones the punch kits came in. I don't remember what they called the empty boxes when they sold them last year, but 2 CB A2 folders fit side by side in the bottom, and I have a few thin border folders that fit in between them.
I have a lot of CB embossing and know I will buy many more in the future. I used my 40 and 50% coupons and bought the blue CB carrying cases with holders. I have 3! It is a great way to carry my folders and dies for card making sessions with friends. It is more costly, but it works for me. I love the idea of a swatch ring. I will definitely make one. Thanks for all the great info.
hello ladies!! i order "Provo craft embossing folder A2 organizer Cuttlebug 3" from Ebay for my binder book it came out so handy..its really awesome that can store your embossing folders in a standard 3 ring binder and see 4 at once, the sheets are clear, sturdy, vinyl sheets that are acid and PVC free & archival safe..its works for my binder book, the sheets are top loading for easy to access to your die, i also using my label machine to make names of embossing folder on front of it that helps me find where or what im looking for... enjoy it !!

Karli, I looked at your link earlier this week and saved your blog page to my bookmarks folder. I haven't been able to find the wooden box you use; my Mike's didn't have it. But I love the inspiration of using a wooden crate. Thanks for sharing.
How do you store your nesties? I just can't figure out a good, safe way to store them.
I store my Nesties with my Cuttlebug Folders on the magnetic sheets you find on top of phone books. You can purchase magnetic sheets but why buy them when they are free. The sheet holds the Nesties in place and makes storing them easy.
Great ideas for storage (mine are currently lined up in box that some came in when I ordered on line). Love the swatch idea too! Off to see if HSN has any of the new ones; it will be a while before we get them in our lone store that sells them here.
