It took most of the afternoon for me to download and open the catalog yesterday. Can't say I was very happy about it, but I did think and save it so if I want to review it again it will just open for me.
Thankfully, I had many interruptions while I was opening the file or it would have driven me super batty waiting for hours!
I just downloaded the catalog. It only took about 5 minutes. Maybe things are moving faster this morning. Last night after about 30 minutes I gave up.
Anyway does anyone know what I do with it now that it is downloaded. Will it be forever on my computer or do I need to do something else? I am afraid to close the window. As you can tell I do not know much about computers!!!
THanks

I just tried again and got hung up stalled at the same time it did yesterday, at around 1.14 MB. Stalled there and computer froze. So I guess it is not meant to be. My computer guy says I need more memory and so I guess that is part of the problem. I will wait for a hard copy, never liked looking online at it anyway (keep telling self that)
I downloaded it and had no problems only took a few minutes, maybe its your connection speed. Stampin up site is always slow the day of catalog release. Normally they have problems in OEX also this has been as long as I have been a demo 4 years now. I believe its everyone trying to access it at the same time. You need a PDF reader to view the catalog and must be saved to desktop or somewhere
I also had no problems. And I actually like that is is download and not just viewable through the flash module. It makes it much faster and you can go back to it anytime without having to navigate the SU site.
Well, I have RoadRunner and have NOT been able to get the entire catalog to download. Last night after 1.5 hours it quit because of a "time out". Tried again this morning and it froze after about 10 minutes. GRRRR!

It's better to DOWNLOAD the file rather than OPEN it in your browser. Instead of just clicking on the catalog link, right click on it and "save target as..." - then in the window that comes up, save it to a location you will remember, like Desktop. It will still take a l o o o o n g time, but this download method is more reliable.

I wasn't able to download the catty last night! I tried twice and gave up. My mother was able to download it and view it, though. (I was on the phone with her & we were going to look at it online together - I ended up getting my hard copy to look at while she was online).
I really wish they would break it into smaller sections- the file up now is ridiculously large. I had it open this morning for 30 minutes, then finally closed the window and gave up. Guess no SU for me this year.
The important thing is to make sure NOT to click on download - right mouse click and select Save Target As.
Also, I'm a demo and have been told that this online catalog is temporary until Online Ordering is in place (no date announced for that yet, but sometime this fall). I'm thinking it will be a true, 'internet shopping' experience, rather than paging through a PDF file.
Before you know it, everyone will have their cattys and access to an online catalog of some sort, and we'll all be happily stamping!
Have a great day, and go give some of your old stamps some lovin' today!

That is the process that finally worked for me, although it still took over 2 hours on a cable modem. In Firefox, it's "Save Link As..." instead of "Save Target As."
Tried that and it's still not working. Thought I was making progress - at 50% after 1 hour 45 minutes, then all of a sudden it said it was done, but when trying to open it, it said the file was corrupt and not able to open! Definitely reconsidering continuing to try downloading it and ordering, it's not worth my time any more. Doesn't help me NOW that there may be online ordering possibly in the fall. I had a list of several items I needed but was going to add new stuff before ordering. Now I'm thinking I'll look elsewhere.
thanks for the link i hope that works i have been trying for 40 minutes and its not opening.. su should have done the other way how they did it previously..talk about getting ppl annoyed lol .. at least i am a bit i have been waiting so long to loook over it lol
I like that it's a full sized catalog. Mine downloaded in about 30 seconds, but I did download from debbisdesign.com though. I hope in the future they offer it both ways. I like the fact that it's all full size. I never liked it when they changed it so that you can't view full sized images a couple of catalogs ago. I have 20/20 vision and the tiny writing was really hard to read. And I used to print my index sheet directly from the site. It was such a time saver. I now photo copy the sticker sheet but the images aren't all straight that way, and stamping them individually takes so much time.
I do agree it was a HUGE d/l though, I just hope in the future it can be both ways.
the link to debbie;s worked thank you but i will figure out the cad prices afterwards lol
Oops. Sorry, I should have mentioned that's the Canadian version on debbisdesign.com. Download instructions for the U.S. version are here: Forums at Splitcoaststampers
Ah, man! Where's the Edit button when you need it?
I've just checked the PDF version on debbisdesign.com and even though the file name is different, the prices match the U.S. version that I downloaded from the main SU site.
