Not bad for one of your first cards. I still have some of my early cards. They were bad. Thank goodness I did not send them to anyone. Is nice to see how we all improve and change.
I keep my very first card in my sample basket so my customers can see it. They always say that I was born with the natural talent. I tell them that it grows over time and the card is proof. They all giggle at it. But it has a special place in my heart and I will keep it in the basket for all my customers to see. It serves as a reminder that we all have to start somewhere.
I tried to look at it and it still said pending approval. I would LOVE to see it considering I have only been at this for a few months and I'm wondering if it looks like one of my cards
If you could email it to me directly I would love to see it. [email protected]
I just added it to the post.... we should totally add everyone's first cards! I didn't even know how to use a paper trimmer so I cut SOOOOOO crooked with my SCISSORS?!?! What was I thinking?
Okay, so I don't have a picture of one of my first cards, but I could give you picture after picture of scrapbook pages that I would LOVE to redo (that is, of course, when I get caught up with my scrapbooks and have all that time to redo my scrapbooks!!) Every possible shape and deco-edge scissor on one layout? All I can say is GAG ME!! (And yes, I'm an 80's girl!!)
Here's a couple of mine! Both made with foam-backed stamps I purchased by lot off of ebay--I knew NOTHING about SU then!
Purple Cat: The inside had paw prints and spots trailing across the page and it had the saying, "You can tell a stamper by the ink on her hands--and clothes and hair and furniture...!"
The other was one of my very first embossing attempts- done in my toaster oven!

Kim, you've come a long way baby! I love love love your website. It has been on my favorites list ever since I found it. I am sure my first cards were hideouser than any I've seen so far. Gotta dig one out, if I haven't thrown them out! MamaK - yeah, whatever! I do prefer your current talents that's for sure. LOL

lol! Thanks! Like I said, there IS hope! As embarrassing as it is, it's good to see we've progressed, isn't it?
Btw, you should've seen my very first card! Talk about hideous! (I never scanned it, THANKFULLY)
Oh boy.....I started stampin' about 7 or 8 years ago. It was pretty basic back then. I stamped right on to my card using pigment ink and ep and then usually coloured in the image w/ markers. I thought I was so good!!!
I will have to dig around to see if I still have anything old around. It would be pretty  !!!!!
Everyone else's beginner cards seem pretty good to me!
Heehee, this is almost like showing pics of yourself from grade school--they're cute, everyone gets a chuckle, and then says, "my how you've come a long way."
And what a coincidence, I just put my first card from 2001 in my gallery the other day. I guess it's too big and won't fit here, so here's the link:

This is the first card that I came up with all on my own. (I had made a few before this ... but they were not my own creation... they were make 'n takes)
I think I made this two or three years ago... whenever "Simple Sketches" was a hostess set. I remember being so excited to get it because it was my first hostess set from my first ever SU party... and it was a Level 3!
Here is the first homemade/Stampin' Up card I ever made. I made it at the first party I ever went to and also that was the first time I had ever heard of Stampin' Up.
My very first cards were made with foam stamps, too ("the wood ones cost SO much more, and they're the same thing!" ). I made those "as needed" and sent them right out, so I don't have any around. I did find some from the very first stamp camp I went to...I was so proud of them, and everyone told me how "great" they were! I remember that when someone new starts out and really encourage them!
I LOVED those deckle-edge scissors...used them for almost everything!

Karen that is me too! I know I don't have anything from so many years ago, but the first card I stamped at the workshop at my home was using the parkbench from the "Simple Pleasures". I stamped it in brown (It's driving me nuts that I can't remember what the brown pad color was called back then) on glossy cardstock, and colored in with the tombow markers. It was very bare-looking, but I thought I'd done a right-fine job!

OMG - This thread has me totally laughing! I don't think I even kept my first cards, because I sent them OUT! Yikes! Maybe that's why some of my rellies don't appreciate my hand stamped creations . . . I horrified them in the beginning and they've never gotten over it! Still smiling over the thought!
This was one of my first....and it made it into Take Ten!! The one with Tagalongs that is a baby card. Totally basic! Of course it took me like 4 hrs to make!
But this was one of my really bad first cards....the orage and green were not great here!
This isn't my official first card. But it's the first card I didn't case. So my first original card. It was for a collage challenge. I still have trouble with collage. Hope to conquer it someday. Gallery at Splitcoaststampers

The kind ladies with whom I swapped (backin 2002) even said they liked it. It was the one and only time I tried to used the Magic Matter. Would have looked a lot better if the original image was also rounded and not angular. I was into the paper rounder then too. I didn't know how to get an even image on my background stamps.
I leave this type of card on my website so that my stampers can feel superior to me - they stamp much better than this! Of course they have a little design help from their demo (ME!). I signed up as a demo before I knew how to stamp. My upline lived far away and wasn't available to teach me. I learned a little at a time - even cards I made last week sometimes still look awful to me, but I send em anyway! Hopefully the recipients don't see the mistakes like I will!

OK...thanks to all of you....I'm bout ready to cry my eyes out. I have only been at this for a little over 6mths and your cards are exactly what mine STILL look like !!
I am soooo embarrassed that I can't even believe I am admitting it. I joined a "newbie" swap and I have to have my cards in by the 1st week in April. Now everyone is going to laugh at me because they have probably seen this post regarding "my very 1st card". And once they get my cards they are going to say...wow Shanon "cased" that card from that funny post.
Should I just quit now? A huge part of me is kidding, but on the other hand I am seriously embarrassed!!!
