Bomb.

Especially when I'm either doing something for the first time, or mass producing something.

And often it'll look that way for a while post completion of project. Too tired/busy to clean it up.

Then, before I can even think of starting the next idea swirling in my head, I HAVE to clean it up or else I can't get started.

It's ok if I started clean and it progresses to bomb-state. I'm fine with that.

But I can't start with a bomb and end up with a bomb.

Ridiculous, I know!

.... and I cook the same way, too. Big bomb in the kitchen, but a terrific meal!

Call in the bomb squad. Once the table is full I start stacking stuff on the floor. I need a room 3 times the one I have now. That would probably help.

It is a mess now. My three year old, has a bag of his building blocks on the floor near his little desk. Hubby always asks why I don't make him clean up the block...I figure that those blocks are a good distraction, and if those were picked up, then people would start to notice MY mess

lol this thread is great!

BOMB here! *waves*

I finally have a craft room *bliss* which I have to share with my DH's computer room. I have storage room, a great big desk and STILL it looks like a bomb went off! I have a giant desk with only an area 6"x6" to work in.

The hardest bit for me is that my supplies seem to magically wander. Even though I have a computer and a TV in my stamp room... I seem to want to craft in the livingroom??!!? Ya know where it's really inconvenient?

*sigh* I have yet to figure out what the heck's wrong with me.

I only have a small stamping space, so it does tend to get a bit cluttered when I'm in major crafting mode. Once or twice a month I have to sit down and just straighten and reorganize. What I'd give for room to spread out!

Mine always looks like a bomb went off. I usually try to clean it up a little if I know I will be mass producing something like birthday party invitations or Christmas cards (really need to get going on those)...but usually I find myself whipping up something a half hour before we have to leave for the birthday party, so I don't have much time to clean up...and then it just gets worse and worse. I bought a stamp recently that says something like "trying to clean the house with children is like trying to staple Jell-o to a tree". I feel the same way about my stamping area. Really makes my DH nuts too!

Yeah, but why can't the space available expand to fit the stuff??

I clean up after each project - pack away everything I used, have clear table tops and then start again.

I also have a self-rule: no going to bed until it is smicko, otherwise it is depressing to look at in the morning and I am less likely to want to start making again.

But then again, the rest of my home is display home quality, even my daughter is now starting to be as pedantic as me!

I'm pretty good about cleaning up after myself on the weekends, but if I make a card before work in the morning, I'm usually so rushed; it definitely then looks like a bomb went off! I can't stand to work in a mess, so by Friday night, I spend a portion of my evening getting it all straightened up again so I can stamp.

Keep it like a bomb went off, regretablely, but then again, I get a lot of exercise trying to find things when I am making a card!!! Always a silver lining!! But maybe one day.......................

Right now it's a huge mess. Definite war zone--- and that's how it usually is too. I have a 10'x5' counter space/island and a 6'x4' desk, upper cabinets. One would think this would be enough storage, but it's not even close.

My craft room is our game room. My husband's computer is on one side, and my craft area is on the other. Since it's a common space, everyone dumps stuff on my counter and all over the floor because they think it's too hard to walk the 10 extra steps to their bedrooms.. so I'm not the only one contributing to the mess.

I'm very organized.. everything has a place, but when I start a project, everything I'm using comes out, and usually stays out long after the project is over. My stamping time is limited, so when I've got time, I want to spend it on the project.. and I work clean through till I'm out of time, and don't have time to clean up. I can't stand starting a project when there's the huge mess, so I try to clean up whenever I have time between projects. I try, try try... but I bomb bomb bomb. lol

The rest of my house is clean though. I guess we all need our dirty little secrets. lol For some it might be a closet.. for me it's a whole room!
