Ok Ladies... How do you keep track of all your sentiment stamps???
I want to find a way to have a list, spreadsheet, or something handy that I can see my sentiment stamps without having to go through and look at all my sets ( hundreds). What works for you? Do you have a spreadsheet? Ideas will be GREATLY appreciated!!!
I have mostly SU, MFT and PTI stamps.. I do have random stamps too but really would like to know what I have so I dont buy a set just for an awesome sentiment... when I might have it in another set!!! Thanks in advance for your suggestions
I scan every set that I purchase, (after unmounting them and putting them in CD cases) and then file my stamp set scans in a photo binder. I run an extra copy of any set that has a sentiment, cut the sentiment out, and place it in photo page sheets in a 31 section divided binder. Ok, let me explain that last sentence.... I use the peel and stick sheets that have a chipboard like sheet and a plastic covering and the 31 section divider tabs found in most office supply stores or big box stores.
I have an index of what each of the 31 tab themes are, such as birthday, sympathy, winter.... basically anything of which I have sentiment stamps. I put a piece of paper in which I list which set the sentiment came from.
The wonderful thing about this system is that really it is pretty easy to maintain once it is set up, I can see every sentiment stamp I own for every occasion, and I can see the font and actual size of the stamp, (in case I want to see if it fits on a nestie etc.) and I know which set it is in, and where to find the stamp when I need it. If the sentiment would fit in a more than one place, like Spring and friendship, I run extra copies and file it in each place where it fits. Let me know if you would like a list of my 28 sections (a little room to grow, but I have had 28 for several years now) and I will list them for you.
I hope this makes sense. I am pretty pleased with how well it works for me. I know I what I have and what I don't need! HTH!
I stamp each type of sentiment [thank you, friend, etc] on a separate page/pages and keep them in a binder and can easily find whatever I'm looking for. I do this whenever a new stamp/stamp set comes home. I just changed over to a loose leaf binder system from a spiral notebook since I ran out of pages and stamping all my images/sentiments took me a few weeks but it was worth it! It takes seconds to find what I'm looking for and I have 20 years worth of stamps.
Annie, your system sounds like a great idea.. I would love to hear your 28 sections. Also if you have a picture of your binder or chipboard sheets... Im trying to picture those in my head. Thanks!!

This is what I was thinking of doing, but trying to come up with the chart to stamp them on etc.. Thanks for your input!
Instead of a notebook file...how about a card file? Either a rolodex type or just file box type.
Think I have way to many for a roledex or file box.. im liking the binder idea so that i can just flip pages..and see a lot at once instead of a cards.. thanks though!!
i have a spread sheet, and one column to tell me in what box i have them in.
I do stamp more with sentiments than images, so I have alot
makes it easier to find what i need

Oh would you be willing to attach your spreadsheet or send it to me via email I would love to see it!!!
I separated my sentiments from the sets, and I keep my sentiments sorted by themes in empty SU boxes.
I have unmounted all my su stamps so I dont use the su boxes anymore.. I use a binder box system. But Im looking for something to see my sentiments without having to look through all my stamps
I'm impressed how organized you all are! Now me.... I spend too much time searching for that one sentiment stamp I know I have somewhere.... usually I find it eventually! I'm sure there's a better way

I am currently in the process of unmounting and organizing my stamps. For the longest time I didn't invest in sentiment stamps because I figured I could just computer generate the sentiment. However, since discovering PTI, my number of sentiment stamps has exploded. I am organizing in two ways. First off, I am going to stamps all my images in a binder according to theme. I will also stamp all my sentiments separately, according to themes...similar to previous post, but less categories. Secondly, I am working on a spreadsheet to track all the stamps. My categories are Stamp Name, Location (where I file the stamps), Manufacturer, Product Code, Price, and Description. The description section is where I make it easier to find specific stamps or sentiments. So in this section, I make tag words to describe the stamp or set (floral, winter, christmas, thank you, celebrate, sentiment, etc). So then I use the filter function and select the words i want. For a sentiment I would enter sentiment and then the words for what I need. So if I need a thank you stamp, i would enter sentiment and thank you. So any stamps or sets I have with a thank you stamp will show. Then it is just a matter of clicking on the hyperlinked photos to see which stamp I want. I am organizing both ways because I like to see the stamp on paper because I have a hard time judging size on the computer. I also don't have my computer in my stamp room so the binder will stay there. I hope this helps.
I'm very impressed with your level of organization, ladies. Thank you for the ideas. I don't have that many sets but, I do need a listing of what I have.
I use the same system as Dianeinsparks- I have them all stamped on A5 sheets in ringbinders. I have done this (finally) with all my stamps- took me a few weeks( and inkpads), but I got fed up with either duplicate buying, or coming across a stamp I really had no idea I had ever bought. I find its been useful for inspiration too- I can flip through the pages, and something springs out at me Its also useful as I can see the size of the image/sentiment before searching for the stamp- make sure its not too big or small.
