Default Ok everyone...I need some opinions...

I have been stumped on a card that I'm doing for a swap (not one here)... I've been trying to make it all weekend and am not happy with any of my results... Is there a stampers block? Well, this is the latest card that I've made and I'd like your opinions 'cuz I can't seem to judge them anymore...

Let me know what you think....

Thanks...

I love the color combinations you have chosen in this card. Very cute.

You've got a lot of white space (to use a designer term) or blue space on the lower left side of the card. I think I might lift off the flower layer and put a horizontal strip across the lower part of the card, then remount the flower layer lower onto the strip, but on the right side of the card. Is this making sense? Leave the cute little tag where it is.

Good luck.

DISCLAIMER: THE FOLLOWING IS PURE OPINION AND DOES NOT CARRY ANY WEIGHT OTHER THAN IT BEING AN OPINION!!!!!!!!

Ok that being said...
The colors are a great combo! Nice and springy!
The DTP on the image itself is a bit too distracting, I think. It may help pull it all together if you DTP the Sage paper and don't put it going against the Pretty in Pink...but make it just off a little or even...
Your tag is a cute idea but again it may just POP! a bit if you were to layer it with the sage if you can... Also have you tried rearranging it so that the larger image is where the tag is? Then stick the tag where the image is now? Perhaps you can run a strip of CS behind the Image and make the tag just below it... so if you were to look at the card you would see the image in the left side with a strip of CS running from behind it then in the bottom right side have your tag...it may just help the card come together and POP!

Now all that being said...I LOVE YOUR CARD ...don't think that I am picking it to pieces, I just thought you would like some ideas of how to rearrange what you have already designed and see if it looks good like that...
Let us know what you decide to do and post it OF COURSE!!!

Thanks for the suggestions...There's something that has been bothering me about it and I didn't know what...I agree that the DTP on the image is distracting...I also knew that wasn't the only thing that I wasn't happy with, but I think that my brain has shut down... Thanks for the input...

I'll post what I come up with and you can all see...

I like the second one you did a lot better.. Your flower which is your focal point really stands out nicer and the green strip helps move your eye throughout the whole card. (diagonals are awesome for that). I like that you have the flower on a circle as well.. adds unity

nice job!

More suggestions from someone who is probably clueless...but it's kinda fun....someone suggested a strip across the bottom....cool...try a layer behind your torn edge....sticking out at the bottom and have it torn, too, maybe use silver....or not....it might make the shiney stuff on the flower pop out..if you use silver paper add a layer of silver cord, as well...another suggestion was to swap the tag and flower, another good suggestion...and add layers...maybe sponge those torn layers ....alot....maybe cut the card a little smaller and mount it on another layer of coordinating cardstock...one can never have too many layers,.....you can always stick on anotherpostage stamp!!! As mentioned above..your card is great..and thanks for letting us all butt in !! Happy stamping!!

I like the second, but did like how you had the white in the first large flower.

I like the second one better too. I like your use of color. What you were missing all along is the principle of the third element. You had one tag and one flower. The green paper you added provides the third element. Our eyes love to see the odd number. Many times that is why it is necessary to add a ribbon or other embellishment.

I probably would NOT do this for a swap but I often look at my swaps and can think of this. If you cut it down a bit and mounted the whole think on a quarter sheet of the green it might look good but for a swap I wouldn't do it.

Just curious. Why wouldn't you do this for a swap?

I like the second one too and I've been thinking all along that the first one needs to be layered on another color. I was thinking the pink though not green. JMO!

Great job!

I liked the flower on the first one better, but the layout of the second card better. I agree about the three elements. It has a more pleasing balance.

If I were to give you one tip, it would be to maybe not tear the edges on the flower and its mat. I would experiment with having clean lines there...either circular or square.

OK everyone... Here it is with the whole thing layered on Pink... I like the effect that the Pink layer had on it. It really brightened up a dark card.

Thank You all for your suggestions!
