Hi there. As most of you have read, there is a wonderful Stamping and Pampering Retreat going on April 27-28th in Cincinnati, OH. We were hoping
for this to be an annual event for up to 60 people. We put a lot of time and effort into making sure it would be a super get away for we over-stressed,
under pampered stampers and scrappers. We made sure we booked 2 Dirty Dozen Gals, had it at a very pamperin' hotel and negotiated special rates for those that choose to stay over, collected great door prizes, put together goody bags, gathered donated Original Art from members of the Dirty Dozen-past and present, massage therapists to walk around giving relaxing neck and shoulder massages during the shoebox swap and even donated things out of our own pockets (hodgepodge hardware, manicure at the spa, cardstock, hip swarovski earrings, punches....) We are supposed to sign the final contract with the hotel today, but we haven't reached our minimum 40 people yet.
So, I'm just curious and would love your honest opinion of what part of the retreat kept you from registering. I'd like to use everyone's opinions to revamp the retreat for next year so more people jump on the fun bandwagon.
And I hadn't heard about this until today! Sounds like a great event. The thing that would keep me away personally is just unfortunate timing. My sister is getting married in June, so in May I already have a couple weekends away from the family for a shower and bachelorette party, so I just can't justify another "me only" weekend right now. If something like this is arranged again, though, in 6mo-1yr from now... I'd love to do it!!

What a fun spring you're going to have w/your sister's wedding!
Look forward to meeting you next time!

It is a long drive for me, about 5 hours. It is to cost prohibited for me. My DH would only let me go if someone would go with me. Therefore it would be double the price. I think everything sounds so great. But, by the time I pay $50 (I think) to register then get a hotel, gas, food, plan 30 card projects and make 30 to share, that is way out of my budget. I am a SAHM with 5 kids and my mom, who loves to stamp and would go with me is retired and lives on a fixed income. It sound like a lot of very exciting things were planned and I would love to go! It just is not in my budget right now. Believe me I want to go!! Going home with 60 different projects would be awesome!!
I'm in KY only 1 1/2 hours from Cincy and haven't heard about this. I think you need to get the word out more. Honestly though retreats aren't my thing but conventions are, I go every year to Cincy for the stamp convention and have for about 8 years now.
Good luck with it though!!
FYI - just wanted to let everyone know that we received many registrations today, but Sarah is out of town for the weekend and couldn't update the list.

I am glad you are making your quota..it sounds like a blast but I hadn't heard of it either! Actually, what do you do in a retreat? LOL Would love to join you next year so advertise, advertise, advertise!
You sent me a PM but I couldn't find the info because it said that I wasn't allowed to see it. I then assumed that since I was no longer a SU demo I couldn't go. Where have you advertised this retreat? I can't go that weekend, but up until this week, I had not heard about it. Hope you make your quota and have lots of fun. Maybe next year.
I'm an Indiana girl and this is the first I've heard about it. It sounds like a great weekend, and I would definitely be interested in going except for already having two commitments that weekend (my daughter's 21st birthday and the Triumph car club road trip).
If you do make it an annual event, keep me posted.
P.S. How did you originally advertise this event (and how did I miss hearing about it until now?).

Hi Isabel,
The retreat is just a really fun mini-getaway to stamp and socialize and swap with other stampers. I love meeting everyone, getting a very rare
couple days to myself (last September Regionals was the first time in 9 years I have been away from my kids) Just a blast!
Hope to meet you at one,
Denise
How would you suggest we advertise? We tried linking in our signatures, posting on as many boards as we could and PMing those that we know are in the area. anything else we haven't tried?
Also- it is filling up- only 36 spots left (that means it is already half full). We only have until Saturday, March 31st to get 60. Make sure, if you can come, that you register fast so you have a spot. You don't want to miss out on stamps on your pillows!
Sarah
