this may be moved cause i dont know if this is the right thread area...
but i just saw one of the ad's(you know the one's of the sponsors above this window of whatever company it is....) and the colors on it were blue and purple....i would have never thought those two colors were a good combo but it looks too cute!!!! i know there's a color combo challenge, but is there a specific thread other than that? or does anyone have any other "ideas" of "weird" or "odd" color combo's that just look good together?
You know what? My morning glories have that combo and you're right - it's gorgeous!!
I really like orange and purple too - at first when it became a Halloween combo, but also one of our members posted this beauty this morning and I thought it was very elegant.
ok, i still dont know how to make these awesome "colored" links, lol....but after seeing that card, it's very nice!!! and it's not the typical bright orange/purple..it's the muted which i think makes a huge difference!! it's very well done....
Lydia, is there any way this thread can be moved to General Stamping? I would love to see more posts to this thread. Sometimes I find color combos that I would never try and I find them SO striking.

Cindy is my upline! She has so much talent and invariably thinks outside of the box. I just love her! She'll be tickled, I'm sure, that you mentioned her card. Her blog is amazing, too. http://www.cindymajor.typepad.com/
My daughter was playing with my scrap bin and made a little card, the colour combo is something I wouldn't have ever dreamed of but it looked very striking so i used it on my next meetings swaps - Rich Razzleberry and Tempting Turquoise

Aren't kids the best inspiration? Something else that inspires me to try new color combos....my messy stamping table. Can't tell you how many times I've piled up mismatched scraps, only to look over and see 2 colors or patterns that I would never have intentionally put together, and look GREAT together!
When I taught Interior Design, the students made color wheels with the color schemes...those things are great to show what colors do go together. Some of the colors you would never 'put' together are actually really nice.
You should try this week's color challenge with AA, here.
Woow, gorgeous gallery! I have used Amethyst with Suede and Vanilla before, but I would never have thought to add Apricot. It looks beautiful!

Agreed! When I find paper scrap combos I like, I staple the scraps together and keep those in a box for future inspiration. My latest scrap combo finds:
Baja Breeze + Rich Razzleberry + Concord Crush
Peach Parfait + Pear Pizzazz + Baja Breeze
Daffodil Delight + Marina Mist + Early Espresso
What a fun thread! Thanks for the shout-out, Lydia and Brandi!

The first card on these 3 was one that I made and just didnt know about the combo but I really liked it when it was done! It is using Stampin Up products: Elements of Style stamp set and the color combo is Dusty Durango, Brocade Blue and Kiwi Kiss.

this is rather interesting, on the scheme playing if you enter on the top circles for types of color co-ordination, it brings up the different color choices,
like these brown tones: foound interesting combined with blue: http://colorschemedesigner.com/
the URL doesn't bring up the browns, but if you enter on the wheel
it brings up different color combinations, so neat, thanks for sharing

Isn't this the coolest thing? At the bottom right of the big color wheel you can see the RGB number. So if you do random and it comes up with a color combo you like, you can write that number down and come back later and find it again.
So if you click on the RGB, a box will come up. Enter this code: CC5B83

That's one of the things that i admire about kids, they don't care about clour wheels and rules, when it comes to creativity, they just go with what they like
