With all this talk lately about CAS (Clean and Simple) cards, and the TBOOTTAB (Totally Blinged Out Over The Top Amazingly Beautiful) cards AKA: FAVORITES thread...who still cares about the ROM (Run Of the Mill)cards??
I DO!!!!
I love putting a little extra *oomf* into my cards, but not so much that it takes me all day to make ONE!!
So here's to all you girls who inspire me with your every-day creations that you add to the gallery for us to look at and actually re-create with my own style!! I have favorited more *average* cards than anything else...and oddly enough, my more 'ROM' cards get favorited most often over the CAS and TBOOTTAB cards I have done!

OMG - your post is too funny! I totally agree - ROM cards are the best.

I think I'm a moody stamper. Kinda whatever floats my boat that day. Some days it's ROM, some days TBOOTAB and others (when I'm channeling JulieHRR) I go CAS.
Other times I am:
TACTI (Totally about coloring the image)
GMTO (Getting my techniques on)
OOPA (Oogling other people's art).

I agree TOTALLY! I just made a CAS card the other day I have not had time to put in my gallery but honestly, I had fun making it and plan on doing more CAS and ROM. I think it can be stressful making the blinged out cards, I don't consider any of mine that blinged out but sometimes they do take me a bit longer than I would like.....great thread!

ROTFLMBO!!! Jeanne, you CRACK me UP!!
Yep, ALL three of those describe me, too!!

You guys are too funny!!! Its all about the mood of the day! Sometimes I just wanna make one card that WOWs, but somedays I actually wanna get several made and make a dent in my birthday/holiday list!
I know you're not really looking for a serious discussion (Stampers just wanna have fun :-)) but I'm totally with you. I love the CAS look, but my own CAS cards just look kinda, you know, plain. But I don't care for the TBOOTTAB look for my own cards, even tho I enjoy looking at others. I bridge the gap with beautiful paper - and if there is a way for me to work in some Hodgepodge hardware, then I'm really happy. I find the paper can get very distracting very quickly, which I guess is why I try to keep the layout simple.
Although if you look at my pathetic gallery, you'll wonder if I really ever stamp at all!

Oh I just took a gander and you better start posting some more because your coloring is just great to look at.
And thank you Cher for mentioning this!! I know it was a bit tongue-in-cheek, but seriously, I figured I'm not TBOOTTAB so I thought maybe I was CAS--but I just can't make a card without DP but now I KNOW I'm ROM!!! YEAH FOR ROM!!!!!!

OMG...you do great cards too!
I am glad I could cause a few smiles...(and a sticky coke-covered monitor) but this is exactly what I mean...I think there are tons of awesome cards out there that really aren't spectacular nor very simple...but still a lot of work went into them and they are more than worthy of sharing! I did one today with only 3 layers and a flower and a little sentiment, and thought how it looked cool, but nothing special...so I didn't even add it to my gallery. I did put it on my blog though...maybe my mom will comment on it. LOL
Yay for ROM...that's my style and I am sticking to it. But yeah, I will try a CAS and a TBOOTTAB for kicks now and then.

I agree. I love looking at the TBOOTTAB, but I never make them or buy the stamps the designers use on them. Would love to see more of a mix by the design teams with all three levels, CAS, ROM and TBOOTTAB.
One of the things I take into account when making a card is how much will the person receiving it appreciate the hard work and details? If it's a guy whose going to look at it for 30 seconds and throw it in the trash the next day, I won't spend most of the day making an over the top card "wow" card for him. In that situation a CAS or ROM card is appropriate.

I've tried channeling you, Jeanne! But, I keep short circuiting. Must be too far a distance. I need to go to TX for vulcan mind meld some day!
BUT, I was TACTI last night and OOPA!

These acronyms are hilarious! I agree. I love seeing what gorgeous stuff folks create on SCS and get inspired by it. However, I'm still getting past my embellishment hoarding phase so I tend not to make the over the top blinged out card (though I love looking at them). So, having simple and some middle of the road cards are great for using as inspiration.
awww...darn...I thought ROM was for regular ole me...cuz that's what my cards are at this point. Regular Ole Me (ROM) + No Rhyme Or Reason (NROR) = MCE (My cards exactly)!
I'm learning I tell ya...ask me next year...then I will be a ROCKING (Rockin Out Cardmakin' Kinda Inspiring Nutty Girl)!!
Cher, I just visited your blog. Gorgeous work, girl!!!
Well, I guess my style would fit in with ROM, too. I was starting to wonder....lol. I do too many layers to be called CAS and the TBOOTTAB just is not me. Generally, I have to remind myself to add some embellishments other than brads or ribbon.
I LOVE being a ROM!!!!!!
ROM card designer!!!! That is me!!!! I LIKE IT!!!!
Thanks for enlightening my style with an ACRONYM, Cher!!!! Good stuff!!!!
Wow! Who knew? I am not really CAS, love layers and embellies, but not TBOOTTAB. ROM it is!!! course I really OOPA a lot too. This is TOO FUNNY, I love the acronyms!

Are we like the Switzerland of SCS?
I am definitely like Switzerland! Sometimes I ALMOST get to TBOOTTAB. I guess I get to NQOTT(never quite over the top) and sometimes I'm a little bit past CAS. So ROM fits perfectly!
