Default Newbie needs SU! product info...

Hello to all the SCS Community...

Here's my story in a nutshell:I'm a TOTAL NEWBIE in this hobby; sister inlaw & her neighbor (SU Demo. - Becky Roberts)got me hooked while I was on vacation out in CA/NEVADA. I live in S.FLA (suburb in the Ft. Lauderdale area); married for 11 yrs; 2 boys - 9 & 3 yrs. old; and I'm a CANUCK (a.k.a. - Cdn.). I'm a creative individual @ heart & have always loved to show that side in some sort of fashion. Love this website, lots of great input, advice, info, & love the gallery. Lots of inspiration for us newbies! Thx. you to you all!

Here's the question: Who out there can tell me about a Stampin Up! CD that has various templates & patterns for stamping/scrapbooking? Are these the same CD's that are listed in the catalog for various Fonts or is this something that SU created, which is now retired, as an addition for all the various "creations" that can be done?
Love to hear & read the input you all have. Especially from those veteran SU Demo's that have good insight on this.

Also, if any of you know of some good SU Stamp Camps here in S. FLA & great demo's, would love to get in touch with them. Want to learn more about stamping & SU. Not ready to be a demo. but would be willing to host a SU Stamp Camp for other stampers. Does SU Demonstrators (stampers) do that sort of thing???

Last but not least... LOVE the new catalog :!: Glad SU listened to it's customers & demo.'s on getting Pkg's set up & made available for Newbies. I personally feel it's a great GIFT IDEA. Way to go SU!!! Kudos to you...Love the look & layout of the catalog, too! It's FAB!

Pls. feel free to email me directly with the info. [email protected]

Thanks again & I look fwd. to the response...

I am a demo from WI---wish I was closer to you :!: I don't know of any SU CD that has ideas and templates--but maybe I will learn something new today . You are at the right place for lots of great SU ideas though. The majority of the projects posted are SU stamps, and you can look them up by stamp set name or technique. I'm sure you will find a demo near you here as well too. Good luck! ( and from the sounds of your post, being a demo isn't completely ruled out in the future! If so, you will love it)

Thanks Michelle for the input...I'm hoping SOMEONE out there can answer the CD question. As I stated, there are some listed on Ebay & I'm very curious about them. But before I decide to commit to placing a bid, I want to make sure that it is a Stampin Up CD & not something that someone has created on their own. I love SU products & the quality is fantastic.

You're correct in re: to the possibility of being a demo. in the future. I won't say I will never be one but why shut the door on something that I've just recently been introduce to. It's a great hobby, relaxing, and on the creativity scale - there are just no limits!

Thanks again Michelle for responding! I really appreciate you taking the time to help me out on my quest.

SU! has not produced a CD with templates on it.

SU! has produced the font CD in the catalog, and they have produced a CD from this month's convention showing samples of cards and gift items (no templates.)

SU! has produced books with templates (which are no longer available.) SU! has placed templates on the demonstrator website, so any demonstrator can make copies from there.

The ones listed on Ebay are not from Stampin Up! They are ones that someone has made themselves, probably getting some of the templates from the demo web site, but they are not exculsively Stampin Up!

Saw those on ebay too, but those are ones that those people created themselves.... sort of like a Kodak picture disk they explain it like. If you have questions on stuff on ebay all you have to do is email them on the item and they will answer your questions.
