Dare I say I'm new to SU wheels? Yes, I'm sure you are shocked. I made out like a bandit in my Stampers 12 group, which I played hostess this month, so I purchased many, many wheels.
Please tell me what you do with your wheels because I would like all the tips I can get.
One tip I got at a stamp camp was to pull the wheel toward you instead of pushing it away from you. She said if you try to stand over it in order to get it straight, you will tend to "tip" it and make an edge mark or leave empty spots. That helped me a lot.

I use wheels for a quick and easy background. Use the same color ink as the card stock and it's a nice subtle background. If you have the ink cartridges, the wheels are PERFECT for making quick tissue paper and gift bag ensemble. Really, use them anywhere you would use a stamp!
Love the wheels! I have a wheel guide, and that has certainly helped my confidence. I like to use them to make backgrounds (especially since I find the background stamps a little overwhelming!). I stamp the same shade ink on cardstock, so I get tone on tone, like the designer paper. I also use the outline kind to colour - this makes a great scrapbook page border. Have fun with them!
How did you 'unmount' them?? I find this very interesting. I have always loved wheels but I find myself "WHEEL CHALLENGED" and haven't bought any even though I love lots of the designs. Thanks!!
I unmounted mine and now I love them even more!!! I use them more since they're just regular stamps now--no more cartridges, or handles...
Yep, me too. I removed them from the black plastic insert and applied EZ Mount to the back of the rubber. My boyfriend made me an acrylic block. I use them more now since I don't have to buy separate cartridges for the wheel handle. And I get better more consistent ink coverage.
I just hosted a 'Wheely' fun card swap. The object of my card swap was to put those wheels to use. Every card had to have a wheeled image on it. I uploaded all of the cards that I received in my swap and posted them into an album in my gallery. Here's the link to that album containing all of the cards that were made using a wheel. You might find some wonderful ideas here.
I love my Rough Texture wheel. it makes a great background. And it's very forgiving. it doesn't matter if you accidentally roll over an area you have already rolled over!

They just peel off of the wheel. I mounted mine on EZMount and now I couldn't live without them! In addition to using them more, it saves space!!
I actually think it is easier to line them up now since I unmounted them. Most of the wheels I just eyeball, but the ones that have to be an exact match (like text) I use my stamp-a-ma-jig. I mostly use them for smaller projects and don't have a need to stamp anything longer than the wheel length.
i have just unmounted a couple of mine onto EZ mount and ,like wow ,it was so easy and i think i will use them more now ,altho i am torn with a couple cos i like to wheel them too ,mmm i may need to buy an extra one to unmount and keep one to wheel ...........:-D
