I need you ladies to help me to decide. I have the classic scalloped oval large. Now my question is:When you put a oval on top of it, do you use the small or large regular classic oval? Also, do you emboss both, the scallop and the regular? I can't decide wihich to buy, and I need everyones opinions, and if you emboss the scallop and the regular.
I think it depends on how offset you want the regular oval. The nesties are 1/4 increments so if you want a smaller off set then I would use large oval scallop w/ the biggest "small" oval. I hope this makes since.
You can purchase the 4 pack with both large and small from www.cutathome.com and use a 40% coupon. I think with shipping and after discount it is about 56 dollars for all 4.
Have fun! they are addicting..... I just got my new ones
I believe you use the corresponding size (so large in this case). If you use the smaller classic ovals with the scalloped large ovals, there will be a bigger 'frame' around the classic shape.
You can emboss either one or both I suppose, if you'd like...all a matter of opinion and what you like!
Does that help?

I wanted to add that I know each one gives a different look. With the small you can see more of the scallop on the large nestie. And the large, not so much.

Their shipping is 6.30 if it will fit into the envelope. Otherwise 10.80. I've bought many of my Nestabilities from Cut at Home - just should have bought them in the 4 packs instead of singles!

Which do you like best and use more often?
Thanks, Pat
I use the one where you can only see a small amount of the scallop...just my preference!

I've tried it both ways and I prefer just a peek of the scallop. I generally small oval, large oval, large scallop. Here a couple of my cards showing both ways. I was experimenting when I first got the nesties. I also use the 40% off coupon at cut@home. Oh, and I emboss all layers. IRL it looks more polished to me, but it doesn't show well in photos sometimes.
I personally use the small ovals with the large scallops. I prefer the look of more of the scalloped layer showing.
Check out this blog post by Nichole Heady, and see which you think you would prefer yourself, because it really is a matter of taste. http://nicholeheady.typepad.com/capt...llbinders_faq/
I'm with Sabrina - I like small plain shapes with the large scallops. If I'm going to emboss my Nesties (I don't always) then I emboss the plain shape, not the scallop.
It really is just a matter of personal preference though!
There is an excellent video that Gina K did on this that might help you decide. Even though the video says 'using nestabilities in your cuttlebug', at first she shows how the different size dies work together. Here is a link:

Like everyone has said, it's a matter of personal preference if you like a little scallop showing, or a lot.
I like the larger scallop showing around the edge, because I often paper pierce holes in the scallops, or make tiny circles/dots with a pen around the scallop. I especially like the look of tiny white dots or circles with my Signo white pen in the scallop frame for girlie cards.
