Default Need ideas for teenage boys for Keiki Cards

Hi All,

Need some help. I am working on some projects to send to the Keiki Cards group for the kids that are ill and noticed they really need cards for older boys.

I am stumped on what to make?

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Deloris

Default Okay

Do you have Classic Convertables or the motorcycle set? Both those sets make great boys cards. I used to use Highways and Byways with it, but they went and retired it. :( You can make some great cards with those sets.

Fantastic Foliage, Wolf, and Dream Catcher make wonderful "masculine" cards! Stacey

Lovely as a Tree ~ Natures Wonders ~ a couple that pop to mind for "neutral gendered" cards! I am sure there's more but those two came right to mind for me....

stars--all sorts of them make great male cards. my favorites are the ones from stars and swirls, border builders (with the checkerboard), or from mini messages SAB.

the dog that says 'ruff day?' from a little love SAB set would be great for boys that are ill. i like to put mine inside the dashed borders mini.

also backgrounds made using little shapes are interesting and can then have any words on them.

use color combinations like:
navy and caramel
forest green and silver
red and navy (brilliant blue is too 'holiday-ish')
bliss blue and chocolate chip

just some ideas i use on cards for my dad/brothers/husband! hope this helps.

How about the race car from To The Finish? And the license plate from the same set that says UR A Winner? I made my 18 year old a card CASED from the current catalog which turned out SO CUTE!! If you don't have the set, I would be more than happy to mail you the images stamped on white CS so you can color and mount them. Just let me know if that would help...

Oh, Alicia, my 12 year old son thinks that race car set is so COOL! I don't have it but he spotted it in the catalog the other day. I'll bet it would make cards older boys would love as much as the younger kids.

Hugs,
Betsy

Betsy~ It is a super cute set. It will probably never be "multi-purpose" like some of the others, but it sure hit the spot for my son's 18th birthday. He LOVES his car, and it was perfect.

I have made some really neat cards and journals using the pines set. My nephews { ages 12 & 15} loved them. I did paper tearing, cut out shapes for more texture/layers. Embossing is always great as it adds texture also. I have noticed that guys seem to be really interested in items that have embossing or different layers. But--I think the real clincher on them is to use some hemp with beads somewhere on the card. Every guy I have gave a card to with some of that loves it. I find the beads that look like small stones, river rocks, broken glass etc. They will sit and fiddle with the hemp and beads and really look the cards over. I will put a scan of a small comp book in the gallery that shows a sample of the type that I have had good success with. Any of the sets such as wolf, yukon, botanicals, along with the above mentioned would work great for guys. When I use botanicals for a guy I just try to use more earthy/ nature tones. Gina

I like to use the Classic Convertibles set for men. The men in my family are all into cars, so it's right up their ally! I also like to use the little shapes set and just randomly stamp the circle in masculine colors to make a polka dot effect and then stamp the message over the circles. I have a polka dot set from another company and I used black, red and grey to stamp different sized circles randomly over the card and it looked really cool.
