Wink Need help making my photos look GOOD!

I noticed that some photos here look very clear and fill the entire window and others do not. Can someone help me know how to acheive this nice look----Thanks!

I took 6 or 7 pictures before I got a good one the first time. I set the card on a wooden table. I had a well lit room and turned off the flash. (The first few tries, I got nothing but flash in my photo.) I aimed the camera and moved it until the card filled the entire screen.

However, I have decided that I like my scanner better. My first two didn't fill the whole screen. Then I discovered the wizard that popped up on the screen. That let me re-size it to fill the screen, and the rest is history. Hope this helps.
