My Stampin Up demonstrator is having a card class and one of the cards is a christmas tree. The tree is made from several folds of paper. I won't be able to make it to her class. I asked her how she made it and she's being very vague. Her first answer was "It's DSP." So then I said "But what is the technique?" And her answer is "Just folds, nothing special." She wont give me a straight answer.
Was wondering, if I forwarded someone the email that has her newsletter in it, if someone could identify the folding technique and point in the direction of instructions?
She probably put the picture in the newsletter to whet your appetite for the class! Is there no way you could attend? If she put a lot of work into the tree and is proud of it, she may not want to give you the specifics without you attending the class IYKWIM.

There is no way I can make it to the class. I have three little ones. I just attended the Stampers 10 last night, I'm super low on gas, and we're broke until Thursday (payday).
I could probably figure it out on my own, it's just going to take a while and I'm going to be frustrated. Was hoping someone where who loves to fold might be willing to take a look.
You got me curious, so I googled folded Christmas tree card and came up with a really neat video. It only takes 3 squares to make the darling tree that goes on the front of the card.
The lady doing the video is a great teacher and really shows how you do it. Maybe it's the same card your demo is doing.
I'm delighted I found it and will save it to make for Christmas!

Thanks so much for the link to the tutorial - those trees are awesome! In fact, I made 10 of them just now, using up scraps of dp. Once you get the hang of it, they are super easy to do - just make sure you have a bone folder or something that can help you get a nice crisp fold, especially if your paper is thicker. I will be making 60 Christmas cards for sale this year (10 sets of 6 different designs each) and this got me going for my first design. Only 5 more designs to go!

Hand over the chocolate, and no one will get hurt!
I made one of these last year. Very easy, stunning and different results based on the DSP you use. The tea bag folding can be used for other things. I would google it if I was you for more ideas.
The demo's business may be really big and she "does not do for one what she can't do for all." I know your demo probably wants to protect her business and time, but it would have been nice if she had told you the technique's name or at least offered to get back with you after the class.
Glad you found it. It is always nice how helpful people here are in helping people figure out the techniques.

I love to see people helping one another here. It's why I keep coming back every day. Most of the members on here are very helpful and encouraging to one another. Can you feel the love?
These are awesome patterns. Thanks so much. I love this site and am going back to see about buying some papers! I received one of the most beautiful cards a couple of years ago from a sweet lady here on SC and its an Iris folded cat. Its beautiful and in a frame hanging on my wall in my scrap room.
