Default need help with announcement wording

I'm making my son's US Marine Corps graduation announcements. YES, I'M BRAGGING !!!!

I can't find any samples of any companies that already do this, other than graduation invitations and we're not really have a big shindig to invite folks too. I just want to send something out to let family and friends know that he is an official US Marine and include a picture of him in his uniform. Of course they're red, white and blue handmade cards and will be somewhat informal, but I need help with the wording.

I had a stamp made that says:
The Few.
The Proud.
Our New Marine.

But what to put on the inside??? Here's the lame wording I've come up with on my own:

We are extremely proud
to announce the
graduation of Mason Ray from
United States Marine Corps
on Friday, May 20, 2005,
Marine Corp. Recruit Depot,
San Diego, California

We thank everyone for their letters, cards and prayers while
Mason was at boot camp. As soon as we know where he will be stationed, we will let everyone know.

Anybody have any ideas how to make this better? It just sounds so lame to me.
