Emily and I will be selling cards and wanted to come up with a dorky name we can use to put on business cards and such that we include with cards for custom orders.....
So far, ideas we have are:
Emberly Designs (get it? Emily-Kimberly?)
Two Sisters Creations
Sisterly Sentiments
Yeah, that's about it. Fresh out of ideas. Soooo, vote on our poll or add your own clever name for us!
I think I've seen sisterly sentiments before (but not sure) and I swear I've seen 2 sisters somewhere! So I vote for Emberly Designs (but I would make it cards and designs) kind of letting them know what you do.
eta: forgive me (my friday night sarcasm is coming out) so is Twisted Sisters totally out of the question?

Yep, I agree....Emberly Designs has a nice ring to it and sounds professional. It stands out more than the other two names---I think people would remember your business name better if it is unique like that. My friend agrees, too! :-)
I do like Emberly Designs but it just seems too tame for y'all! You need something with FIRE but that will not be offensive. I can't think of anything like that though so Emberly Designs sounds good. We could call you ED for short!

My small piece of advice is to incorporate a word or phrase in your business name that you can incorporate into a logo. For instance, "Lone Star Designs" - you can use a star or shape of Texas on your logo.
Another idea might be to use "My Sister's Designs & Cards" - the logo could be either your friendly faces or else clipart of two redheaded girls. Plus, it would be cute for people who buy your stuff to say "my sister" made this when asked where they got the cards.
I like the *ember* part of combining your names, Reminds me of those nice glowing coals after the weiner roast is done and everyone is just sitting around, relaxing and chatting.
How about... Ember's Creations: cards designed with you in mind
or Embers and Embellishments: unique cards and gifts
or Glowing Embers: cards to warm your heart
or Red Hot Embers (but you might have to be careful how you subtitled this one.. giggle, giggle)
or Ember's Imagination: cards to use in the real world
My first thought was to use Ember instead of Emberly too. Emberly sounds like the name of some poor woman who's married to a cardigan-wearing guy named Wilbur (who spends all his time out in the barn talking to their horse, of course). After browing the thesaurus I can't find a good alliterative title, with the possible exception of Ember's Ecstasy (believe me, that is the best of the lot -- the other alternatives were Ember's Elegy, Ember's Eye ... yech). Perhaps Ember's Endearments? YOu said you were going for corny....

I like Emberly. The first image that came to mind was English countryside. Prolly from reading too much English lit lately. Anyway, I think it sounds classy.

Holy smokes, Mel, what are you eating? and what time is it where you are?
I'm on my 3rd cup of coffee and thinking about making more, since it's 9 a.m. here and I had to get up waaayyy to early for a Saturday. I'd like to have some of your energy - even if it is sugar induced!
Apologies for the hijack.

It's 1:30 am here, and I have had too many of those Campino candies made by Storck. (And listening to Radio Netherlands, which is kinda close to Germany, but then again is so far from it in many ways.)

But I also like Emberly Designs.
Is Emily not going to be a demo anymore and buy other stamps? I didn't think you could set up a business to sell cards with SU stamps.

OMG, I just about spit coffee all over my keyboard. Too funny!!!! :-D :-D :-D
I voted for Sisterly Sentiments, because I thought that it was catchier. Without knowing the combination of Emily & Kimberly to make Emberly, most people won't get it.
I voted for "Sisterly Sentiments" because I like the alliteration. I sell me cards as "Clownmom Creations" -- also because of the alliteration. I think it flows better.

As long as you guys brought up brownies and chocolate, I think I'll go swipe some of my kids Easter candy. The Whoppers would be a good choice, I think!
