Default My Ink, Paper, Buttons, and Ribbons storage

In addition to the other photos I posted of my craft room, here are a couple more shots, including the wall unit my hubby and I made for my paper, inks, ribbons, etc. This is before I purchased the Ink Caddy.

Hope this gives some of you new ideas.

Lauren~

Can you give more details on how your husband made that? We are about to redo my area and not sure what to do it with! I really like what you have done!

Boy, I'd like to give all the credit to my hubby, but.... I spent too many sleepless nights thinking, and measuring, and drawing, etc. Then, he helped ME! Go girlpower!!! Don't mess up my stamping stuff!!

Anyway, I purchased two of the 8-1/2X11 scrapbooking paper display shelves online. I did a search and found a company (I can't remember which company - sorry ) that had 24 shelves in one display. So, I Dremmeled two shelves in half to get my four shelves. Just measured wood to fit around the shelves and bolted them in on the back (wood to the wire shelves). I printed out each of the four color groups and ran them through the Xyron and just stuck them on top of the cubbies.

To store the ribbon, I just added a piece of lattice-look molding, and recessed each divider and ran the lattice piece across the bottom to hold the ribbons in place.

I was going to order a rack to actually hang the spools of ribbon along the bottom, but I wanted something where I didn't have to remove a bunch of spools to get to the one I wanted. This way, the ribbon just hangs over the edge, and I pull out what I need and cut it off - no moving the ribbons at all. All of SU!'s ribbons fit perfectly.

Hope this helps.

Delene: The paper storage rack weighs a mother load... We had to put it up on cleats and mounted in the studs. Wish you were in Arizona - we'd make you one in a heartbeat!

LOL, hey Lauren, careful what you wish for!! I know we have some AZ sisters on here, and I personally will be moving your way in a couple of years when we retire from the Marine Corps from this island in the middle of nowhere. We are in escrow on a lot between Casa Grande and Maricopa areas.

Karen: Too bad I didn't know that earlier... I'm an escrow officer, and it would have been fun to handle your transaction. I do quite a bit of vacant land transaction, too.

This is a great place to settle down to after the military. Lot's of retired military here. My hubby was just short a couple of years of retirement. I met him right after he got out, otherwise, I sure would have tried to talk him into staying until at least 20! Oh, well...
