Default More money for stamps

We used to use coupons and put the savings in a jar every time we came home from the store. We had an annual contest with my cousins and it was sort of fun. Saved hundreds of dollars a year. We got away from it when we lived abroad, but I am thinking to go back to the game, save the money, and allow myself that much money for stamping stuff---maybe quarterly.

I used to do that until grocery stores started taking the coupon money off the total due rather than give the money back after the transaction. I was really annoyed when they started that, lol!

sounds like fun - kind of along the lines of stamp-to-spend challenge

oh, if you do this, your coupon $ isn't the only $ you get to spend on stamping stuff, right?

The way to save little and add up fast is to empty your purse and pockets of change every day. Over time you'd be shocked how quickly that change adds up to big dollars!

That's part of the money I use for stamps, my DH's change. He empties his pockets every night into MY jar. Amazing how fast it adds up.

I should do that, then my purse wouldn't feel like there is a brick in it.

We have a 5 gallon water bottle that we put all our change into. We are saving for one year and however much we save determines what kind of vacation we go on...if we save $5.00 we can go for ice cream, if we save $5000, we can go to Europe! LOL!

Default saving change

We do it too!
Quarters go in mini m & m tubes (started when kids needed quarters for laundry at college)
Dimes go in this huge baseball shaped drink cup...(when it finally filled upafter 5 years I had over $250.00 just in dimes)
Nickels and pennies go in a giant film canister shaped bank.

the film can holds between 13 and 18 dollars depending on the ratio of nickles to pennies

the small m and m tubes hold about 10 dollars

the larger m and m tubes hold close to 20

Once I counted them all the same weekend when they were full and i had almost $400 dollars---and it all went for stamping needs.

Fun fun fun.....almost makes it seem like free stuff.

I do this, and roll the change whenever there is enough, then deposit it to my stamping checking account. Now if there was only a way to get to DH's loose change, lol.....

I do this with change too. It goes into a savings account for my granddaughter. It does add up quickly and since she is only 4 by the time she is old enough I should have a couple CDs for her. I will do this for any grandchildren I get. Just some small way to let them know grandma was thinking of them all the years they were growing up...Blessings.

I tease DH because he says I'm not allowed to get change out of the change jar. I can take as much money as I want out of his wallet, but no touching the change jar. Back to the OP, I am going to have to start using coupons and doing a little bit better research now that we are having a baby...I hear they are more expensive than stamping.

Every time my DH says he needs me when he doesn't really, I put a euro in my piggy bank, and that is my money for little extras on an order. It's OK if he really does need me to find something, but you probably would believe how quickly it adds up, LOL.

I save all my change and when I do the laundry. And change that falls out of the pockets is mine.

So I am filling a large Jar with this change.

At the first of the year by BF and I started saving Change cause we both set goals. We each had something that we wanted to buy.

For her it is a pair of HD boots. and mine is the Slice Machine.

So well see by Dec 1st how much money we have. And go from there.

I use coupons on every trip to the grocery store. I am a coupon junkie!

I think your idea is fabulous.
