Question Mod Podge & Altered things....

Do you use modge podge to seal your altered containers? I have a plastic container that would be great to alter, I haven't done one of these yet and am wondering if after you are done adhering the paper etc., do you seal it with modge podge? Can you use it to adhere the paper too? What do you do? Does anyone use it on their composition books? Thanks....

I don't know about plastic, but on the clipboards and on wood I use modge podge to adhere the paper then let it dry(make sure you get the bubbles out) then cover with modge podge to seal. I don't even know if it works on metal but I sure would be interested to know!

I've used mod podge to adhere to metal. Here's a sample from my gallery...

It works great on metal and seals tons of stuff. Mod Podge can be used on paper (as glue) and most likely plastic. I don't see why not. It dries clear. As you can see in the link below (metal container that I used it on) I coated the entire thing with Mod Podge, including the ribbon, etc. The 2nd link is the bottom of the container. The fibers were pasted down with Mod Podge - I used it as a glue. This stuff is great!!!

The 3rd link I used Mod Podge as a glue to create a Faux Silk card.

Good luck! Can't see what you create with it!!!

I've been using Mod Podge for years and I love it!

It's great for sealing things. I am currently working on four altered clipboards and 20 altered gift cards (to become Christmas ornaments) and I am using MP to seal everything. I use the matte finish and put two coats on everything I want sealed. Works like a charm and dries fast too!
