Default mistake?

I just got my demonstrator package and I am looking at the Starter Kit Order form. I don't think I will get the extra $50.00 Stampin' Memories add on. Is this a mistake? Do you demo and sell a lot of this? I would hate to sell myself short in what I can show people who might be interested in scrapbooking. The scrapbook stuff seems awfully expensive to me.

I REALLY wish I would have gotten the Scrapbooking add on. YES, order it!! Definately!!!!!
I have some customers who mainly scrap, and now I don't have any SU stuff to demo with. (And, I am a new demo - joined only 2 months ago.)
I just ordered a 6 X 6 album, an alphabet set, and a simply scrappin kit. All that was more than $50.00!

well, you *may* kick yourself later if you don't take advantage of that great deal. It's a $93 value for $50. You can switch out a couple of things to your choice for up to same cost as what they suggest. You may be surprised how many will be interested in the SU scrapbook line. You will also receive an alphabet set & cardstock & craft ink & .....stuff you can use personally

I almost passed it up, but read on here of several who had & they were later sorry.

For the $...I would do it. I didn't and I wish I had. I was not really into scrapbooking, but now I have lots of customers who are and I am sticking more $ into the supplies...wish I had done it right away!

I didn't scrapbook when I first signed up and I got the add-on and don't regret it at all. I love the 6x6 album. It's a great deal.

I have to urge you not to avoid scrapbooking. My best customers are scrapbookers. It seems that card making customers can easily hit a certain critical mass of things and then they just stop buying as much. My scrapbookers are consistently buying things, even after 2 1/2 years. They always have a large wish list because they are always taking new and different pictures and they just have to have such and such set to go with their new photoes. Even if you don't want to become a great scrapbooker, you are missing a huge market if you don't cater to the scrappers interests.

Good Luck. Scrapping can be fun. Do the 6x6 album and just think of them as large card fronts that feature a photo. You can do it.

Being a scrapbooker myself. I would suggest to all you demo's not to forget the scrapbook people. I just last month decided to go to all stamps and no more stickers. I find that I can do a lot more with stamps and the color choices!! My Demo person is total excited, because like someone said in one of the early post " our wish list just keep growing".

You can always do a technique swap and put it in the 6X6 album. Everything else in the Scrappin add-on can be used for other (cardmaking) things. I know a couple of the Simply Scrappin kits have been turned into cards and posted here.

I wish I had gotten it. Wasn't really thinking at the time when I joined (2 months ago) and I even knew some of my customers scrap! I don't have an alphabet set at all! Too bad there wasn't an extended period for new demos that we could still add it for the starter price say within three months of signing on! Oh well, live and learn!

I would also tell you to purchase this. I am a true scrapbooker and actually just started doing cards not long ago. I tend to spend more money on my scrapping then on cards though....and will always spend money on scrapping.

Default mistake

We I just signed up Feb 24 and passed on it and am very sorry now. My first open house is this week and people are asking can this be used in scrapbooking too. I had tried to contact SU and see if before they still add it on but no luck, so yes I am one of those kicking myself now. I'd say order it, it is a great deal. My upline and I did the whole how much is it for 50 dollars and I still passed on. Live and learn I guess.
good luck

Well, when I signed up I didn't even scrapbook yet. I was just thinking about it. I did get the add on because when I added it up, it was such a good deal!

I didn't get it and immediately regretted it! I ended up buying every thing in the add on anyway. As soon as I had my first brag book at a Workshop I sold several! People like to SEE the quality!!

I agree with the earlier posts. I got it because it was a good buy plus I needed an alphabet set. I have scrapbook customers who are totally new to stamping and very interested in the whole line. If I didn't have the add on I wouldn't be as convincing in thier eyes about the benefits of scrapping the SU way. I feel it is money well spent if you can afford it.

I echo everyone else's comments. When I signed up, I didn't get the add on and have regretted it ever since.

Go for it!

<<<<You can always do a technique swap and put it in the 6X6 album.

I copied and pasted this comment. How do you guys get what others say in those little white outlined boxes?

Anyway, a technique swap would be SOOOO very helpful but I am brand new and what I would have to offer in a swap just wouldn't be fair.

So, I guess I will order the kit but I am not sure what I am going to show since no one would be impressed with my scrapbook pages. And a 6X6 brag book???? From what I hear everyone is into these big 12 X 12 books and paper.

Don't underestimate that little brag book. I have filled mine with pages for my daughter and am working on one for my son. I take it to every workshop and customers love looking at it. They see that stamps can be used to make background paper, stickers, titles, accessories, etc. It's helped with sales, because you can't take all your stamps to a workshop but if you have pages done with each set, people can see them for themselves.

What can you do with a 6x6 brag book?

1) Technique examples: YOU can do this just by using the techniques SU gives in those little technique booklets you get with an order. Use one or two pages for each technique. It's a great selling tool, and you can mention that your customers will get a little booklet with their orders, too.

2) A small album on a specific topic, say, "Our 2004 Trip to the Beach." This would be a great way to show QUICK pages, etc.

3) Show off a different size card -- SU even sells envelopes that fit 6x6 cards! I had never thought of different-size cards before, but think how cool it would be to send a 6x6 "scrapbook page" as the front of a card for Grandma!

You can do ALL of this in one book. You could just divide the book into sections (make index tabs with little rectangles of cardstock). That way you have 3 different (or more) things in one small book you can carry around.

As for your original question: GET THE ADD-ON. I was a scrapbooker first, before I was a stamper, and I wanted to know what SU had for ME in the scrapbooking world. Tons, as it turned out. And I love the albums! I wouldn't have known that had I not gotten the album.

You're gonna love being a demo. It's one of the best things I've ever done, crafty-wise!
