Ok, I was suppose to be going to the cleaners to get my DH's clothes, but I made a stop on the way and guess what I found? Michael's has gotten some new ribbon in!!!!! They are packages of 6 different types of ribbon, but all in the same color family. They have red, green, pink, blue, and a few more. You get 24 feet for 4.99. I know it's kinda pricey, but if you use your coupon, it's not too bad. It's the perfect combo for doing all those cute little V's of ribbon on cards!!
Hey!!! I gotta check THAT out!!! Where in the store was this? Was it in the ribbon section? Is it a "shrink wrapped" package? If I remember from the ad, is it the "Adornaments" fiber packages? I luv those. Spill the beans, sista!!!

Rats! I was just in Michaels a few days ago and didn't see the ribbon pack youre talking about. I'll check for it next time.
I did find some fun little ribbon spools on an end aisle...they are called Bobbin Ribbon and are about the size of a 50 cent piece. They were 99cents and have 3 yards of ribbon on the spool. There were lots of fun ginghams (gable green, black/tan) and several fun stripes as well as plain twill for stamping sentiments on and lots of different spools that had words on them for scrapbookers. I bot several just because they were so cute! But the price was right and the colors were fabulous!

I didn't see the color coordinated packaged ones, but the bobbin ones are cute and had lots of selection. Good for both scrapping and cards. They were on sale for .99!
I have those fun little .99 ribbons, and this was right across the asile from them at my Micheal's in Lewisville! They are hanging on the end cap, and come in a box with the 6 different ribbons.
At Walmart in the craft area, I found some gingham ribbon. Not as many yards as SU ribbon, but they had light pink, dark pink, red, a mellow moss color, black and I think a shade of purple (perfect plum) not sure if they had any other colors (I was hoping for yellow). $1.88 each.
I just got back from Michaels (after reading this post the other day) and couldn't find the pre-packaged/color coordinated sets. :(
I did find plenty of others that I 'needed', but I'm so bummed that I couldnt find these other sets.
Maybe I'll try another Michaels over the weekend...
I went wild at Michaels.. They had the cutest ribbon.... gingham, dots, stripes they had it all.. so so cute..... I love the the little .99 spools.. just enough to do a few cards or 6x6 pages with.... pinks/greens/blues.. so cute.... my hands were full....
I loaded up on the Michael's ribbon also. I got the soccer one for a friend of mine whose daughters play soccer and the girls one for myself. I got several of the plaids. Yesterday Walmart had a section of their ribbon marked to .25 also. I grabbed that as well. Now, to develop the skills to use all of this...
SU is much more economical, but if you factor in shipping and tax, I came out with .15cents per foot of gingham. BUT, if you have to drive a ways to Michael's or Wal-Mart, AND you end up buying so much more than you were intending too because you just can't help it, then SU is much more economical!
Tee hee, I'm guily of running in to Michael's just out of curiosity and coming home with miles of ribbon, fiber etc.
