I have been thinking about getting the marker set for a long time now. I would rather get them with the case so I have put off getting them. Please sell me on how much you love them & what you like to use them for. I don't want to use them in my scrapbook since they are dye based.
Personally, I use them a lot because I'm a horrible water colorer. I love them. The tips are nice and strong, so is the ink, very deep colors. I've had mine for years and they have yet to run out. Love them!!

I love them!! I use them to write in cards and use them for stamping!! I think it is one of the most versatile items to have! Buy them, I know you will love them once you start to use them.
They are worth every penny of the price tag.
I use them for small, quick projects instead of ink pads, to write in matching ink, to ink a portion of a stamp, and much more!
I treated myself to these when I hosted a party about a year ago & after completing a very difficult project at work... LOVE THEM! 2 tips - 1 fine pt (for writing/printing/touching up/filling in fine detail etc & 1 a brush-like end for filling in larger areas, shading a stamped image, etc. I use a lot to play with color combinations before cutting any papers & to test how a one color will look when used to stamp on another color. Found it easier to use than the color wheel. Also use the brush end to 'ink' a stamp-especially if I want to ink parts of a stamp with different colors, don't have a particular stamp pad (don't have all 48 yet),or to ink up a reverse image stamp. Still as bright as they were when I bought them. Other markers I've had for a bit longer have either dried out or are drying out-even though capped & stored properly. I wish they had these in a white and a few metallics.
I've only had mine for 4 months now, and I absolutely love them, don't know how I managed without them before. Use them for all the above mentioned things. I joined a marker club (4 people and 4 months) and so could spread the payments over 4 months but you still get the case, when it's your month to host! Good Luck!!

I'm dying to order the marker set too, but I've decided to wait until January because if I throw in another $30 worth of stuff from my ever growing wish list, I'll be able to earn 3 free SAB sets !!!
For those of you who can't afford to shell out so much money at once, ask your demo to consider starting a marker club, if she doesn't already offer it. I NEVER thought I would get anyone interested, but one month I demo'd Petal Prints with markers and two people really like them. I mentioned that I could do a Marker Club and they jumped at it. I e-mailed the rest of my customers and before I knew it I had 3 clubs filled with another gal on a waiting list.
We meet at my house once every other month (to make it more affordable) and I show different techniques with the markers. If your demo is interested but doesn't know the specifics of how to run one, have her contact me at [email protected] and I'd be happy to give her the details of my clubs.

In case anyone misunderstood my last post, I am not soliciting for new people to join my clubs. My clubs are for my customers and since we physically meet, they need to be local. I just wanted to pass along my info so that people could pass my info along to their demos if the demos were unsure of how to proceed.

You guys are smart to do it when you are hosting a show or to do it during SAB because you'll get lots of extras that will help with the blow of the cost. I had a hard time spending that much money when there were so many stamps I wanted so I hosted a show bought mine and ended up with THREE free stamp sets! It doesn't get any better than that!!!!! Markers and free stamps

ME too - I am dying here - I love using my demo's markers and I have been holding out to wait until January and SAB to buy them so I can get more bang (well more stamps) for my $$$
One thing I love about the markers is you can use them to color just a part of the stamp and then stamp - I have the black marker and have done this to only stamp part of the stamp - sets like Figures of Speech where you might only want the words or the image inside the words...

I absolutely LOVE my markers and use them constantly with a BLENDER PEN for a watercolor look! WONDERFUL!!!!!
I don't have very many stamp pads, and I've seen the watercoloring with the ink in the cover of the stamp pad. How do you use the blender pen with your markers (as opposed to the stamp pad covers)?
The marker set was one of the first thinga I purchased when I became a demo and I love them. I use them all the time because I like to color parts of stamps and I like it that they coordinate with all of SU's colors. Go for it! You won't be sorry!
The markers are a MUST HAVE!!! My DH purchased mine for my birthday in October. Shortly after receiving them I began using them and haven't stopped since. They are WONDERFUL! I use them on every craft I make and so do my three daughters! They are so lush and the color is so deep...get them...you will not regret it!

I am taking a quick break from making my swap cards, and I'm using markers so I had to peek at this thread!! I'm using More Petal Prints and coloring the stem Mellow Moss and the flower Lavender Lace. There's no WAY I could have made all 66 of the little panels I needed using my pads, it would have been too hard. I am so glad I've got the markers!! I use them often. Sometimes if I stamp an image leaving a space or making a mistake, using the marker can fill it, touch it up or just add to the effect I wanted!
I'll post one of my cards in the gallery.

You basically use the blender pen and aquapainter with markers the same way you use them with ink pads- swipe or dip:
1. Swipe: Touch the tip of the blender pen/aquapainter brush to the tip of the marker; it will pick up a little ink & you can 'paint' with it.
2. Dip: Use your marker to color on a plastic surface (lots of folks use an old AOL CD - how nice of AOL to keep sending craft supplies to us!). A bit of ink will pool up. Dip the tip of your blender pen/aquapainter in the ink & paint with it.
I got the whole set when I was in a marker club & really like having them for all the reasons folks mentioned above. Besides, I've noticed that lots of stamping fans (particularly SU fans) are collectors - we like the sense of completeness that comes with getting a full set!!!!
Well, that settles it! I'll either be trying to drum up a marker club among my customers (my friends, hahahaha!!) or I'll be buying these during SAB. Siiiigh! Time to start saving my pennies! I definitely want the full set -- I want that cool box!
One of my friends said she saw the Zig marker case, which holds 48 markers and is like ours, on salle at JoAnne for less than $10. She was debating buying it and making a template for the colors on her computer, or just buying the whole set and selling the individual ones she has on eBay. Personally, I would buy ours all at once and get the case, and get the free SAB sets! But if your box gets cracked or broken, at least you know there's an option. You could slide out our insert, and put it in their case if you needed to.
