Do you stamp your own wrapping paper? I have bunch of wheels, so I wanted to try it. Bought some brown kraft paper at the store, and it worked nicely except it is for mailing stuff, and kinda thick to actually wrap nicely with. So I am looking for advice on what to use (hopefully cheap) to stamp on....
I've always either used newspaper ends or butcher paper. We have a paper supply in town that carries both- you get about 1500 feet for 20 bucks or so. Depending on your town you might be able to get newspaper remanents from your local paper for free or cheap. The length would vary and this paper tends to bleed a little more, but its nice and thin and if you can get it for free, well the price sure will be right! so probably worth a look! HTH

Last Christmas I used the Stampin' Up! paper. Although it's not that wide, it is the perfect width to use with the ruler. It was quick to do and turned out great!!

Allow yourself plenty of time. When I first started stamping (and you don't even want to know how long ago that was) I decided to do that for Christmas. Even though I was using a wheel (back in the olden days - BJW, before jumbo wheels) I spent more time making the paper than I did actually wrapping the packages. But they looked gorgeous, although as that paper was being ripped to pieces, I had the same feeling I get when I think of someone tossing one of my cards into the garbage can!
I use paper made for large format plotters. It comes in rolls of various lengths, it comes in several different weights and it is fairly inexpensive. The best way to find the best source in your area would be to call a local architecture or engineering firm & ask them where they purchase their plotter paper.
I have 3 different avenues I use. I use the SU paper when I want a high quality. Another place I get paper is from a printing shop or newspaper. You can get the end of rolls for very cheap or free. Thankfully my BIL works at a print shop. I also save my paper from my SU orders and roll them up. Last year I did presents going in white and presents staying home in brown. It was so much easier to sort.

That is a great idea. I think I have some large sheets tucked away that were in a package once that I thought I could use for something.. lol.. now that you remind me!!
I use kraft paper, too. I got some blue rolls at M's on clearance, and I like them... they are thick, but make nice creases and you don't have to worry if your gift will "pop out" through it. Have fun!
