Anyone else hear about this? I don't have a Cricut and haven't started scrapbooking yet, but the owner of our LSS showed me some info the other day on being able to make your own stamps with the Cricut.
I told him I didn't do scrapbooks yet, mostly cards, and wondered if he was considering increasing his selection of stamps (it's a LOT of paper and stickers). He asked if I had a Cricut and showed me some glossy promo sheets. Apparently, they are going to have stamp-making abilities for the Cricut. My first response was - you can draw your own stamps?! And he said, no, it seems there will be cartridges with their images but you can make them into stamps.
Just wondered if anyone else has heard this and if it's something you Cricut users will be happy to hear.
Yes, i got this info in a survey. They are also offering a deeper cutting blade (for chipboard and stuff) and a "make your own embossing folder" kit! How fun is that?!?!?!

Ladies......If you have a BIGkick, BigShot or Cuttlebug, you can also make your own stamps from any of the die cuts. You just need to purchase foam that is very dense or even craft foam can work. If using craft foam, cut and putting them on top of each other to make it thicker and easier to handle. The images may not be quite as intricate, but certainly aren't bad either.
You can use what ever you want to ink them even paint. Then just wash them in the sink to clean then dry throughly.

This method would certainly work with any other die cutting machines that will also cut dense foam or craft foam.
Yes, you can buy 1 sheet of the 'stamp material' and blade in a kit for $19.99. From what I saw, that stamp material is WAY too thin and doesn't provide enough height to prevent ink from getting on the block. If you watch the video closely, that is exactly what has happened and there is a smudge in the lower left corner from where ink has transferred from the block to the paper.
What kind of material did he put into the cricut to cut the image from? Don't have speakers. TIA!
I'm guessing it's a thin sheet of photopolymer. At least, that would be a logical material to me, that could be easily cut with the Cricut blade. But, then, I could be wrong--j'est guessin'! ;)

I was so NOT ever going to get one of these machines. Never. No use.
And, then I saw it in action at my cousin's, making silhouette note cards. Holy Mother of Pearl was that cool!
So, of course, now I'm thinkin', mebbe I *could* use one of these . . . but, I want the Expressions (big one, not the little one); for die cutting boxes.
And, if that blade really does cut well through chipboard, or at the least, lightweight coaster pulp board, that will probably win me and I'll be all over it like white on rice! ;)
